Qlik achieves Protected level IRAP status for public sector
Qlik, known globally for its prowess in data integration, analytics, and AI, has announced that it has achieved a Protected level assessment from Australia's Information Security Registered Assessor Program (IRAP). This new status enables the Australian Government and regulated industries to use Qlik's data insights and AI capabilities to modernise their processes and introduce impactful, AI-powered service delivery.
The new IRAP certification enables Qlik to transform data challenges faced by these organizations into strategic opportunities, streamline resources, and provide effective citizen-centric services. This milestone builds upon Qlik's strong foothold in the public sector. The firm has been a key player in supporting digital transformation journeys of various public departments, including the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), Australian Department of Health and Aged Care, NSW Department of Customer Service, and the Australian Defence Force. Qlik also has a significant footprint in the healthcare sector, servicing nearly two-thirds of all state health departments in Australia.
For Australia's Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), the new classification will allow greater utilisation of the cloud solution it has already purchased from Qlik. As well as future-proofing their operations, this will enable the DEWR to create a best-in-class employment infrastructure. Reliable and secure data solutions are integral to the modernisation of public services, and cloud platforms are crucial for harnessing the potential of AI.
Geoff Thomas, Senior Vice President, APAC, Qlik, summarized this achievement by stating: "The completion of our assessment is testament to our dedication to maintaining the highest cybersecurity standards, delivering substantial value to Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Security Officers (CSOs) within the Australian government. This classification as Protected Level reflects Qlik's commitment to providing secure, reliable data solutions to streamline and optimise processes for government agencies."
Similarly expressing DEWR's sentiment, John Carroll, Director, Qlik Engagement Team, DEWR said, "We use Qlik's data analytics platform every day to influence government policy, inform operational decisions and support program management. Accurate data allows us to make informed decisions that support all Australians and to communicate with our stakeholders more effectively. This new classification further propels our move to the cloud, allowing us to future-proof our operations and help deliver a best-in-class employment infrastructure."
With the shift towards cloud adoption in public sector agencies being driven by the need for AI, Qlik's cloud platform is ideally positioned to leverage data intelligently to enhance the delivery of public services in Australia. Mark Fazackerley, Country Manager ANZ, Qlik, highlighted that their SaaS environment aligns with the stringent standards of IRAP's Protected Level and provides tailored support to empower and elevate government initiatives, ultimately improving citizen outcomes.
