PPDS appoints Marco van der Knaap as Global Product Manager

PPDS has named Marco van der Knaap as its new Global Product Manager of Philips LED displays.

Marco van der Knaap is described as a highly experienced AV/IT specialist, with a career spanning 25 years dedicated primarily to LED technology. His appointment is aimed at supporting PPDS in navigating the competitive market for direct view LED displays and aligns with the company's global strategy for expansion.

Van der Knaap will be based in Amsterdam and will report directly to Jeroen Brants, Global Product Director for LED at PPDS. His career highlights include leading high-performance teams and implementing complex digital and sales transformation initiatives that resulted in notable growth at well-known LED technology brands. This includes achieving a 500% revenue increase at a previous company alongside optimising operational costs.

He is tasked with reinforcing PPDS' goal to expand its market footprint and enhance the value and experience provided to customers, both during installation and throughout the customer relationship. As part of his responsibilities, van der Knaap will provide support to PPDS' global indoor and outdoor direct view LED sales teams.

Van der Knaap's technical expertise will underpin his work in product management, business development, marketing, sales, strategy, and operations. His role involves increasing awareness of the Philips indoor and outdoor LED product portfolio and delivering customised hardware and software solutions tailored to a variety of market needs. These verticals include retail, broadcast, public venues such as sports arenas and stadia, as well as corporate, education, hospitality, and transportation sectors.

As part of his new role, van der Knaap will be available to customers and partners at major industry events. He will be present at InfoComm 2025 in Orlando, where he will be on hand at the Philips booth to answer questions and provide demonstrations of PPDS' Philips LED solutions. The event will also see the debut of a new All in One LED display that focuses on sustainability and versatility.
