NVIDIA & Fujitsu partner to boost AI infrastructure in Australia

Fri, 10th Oct 2025

NVIDIA and Fujitsu have announced an expanded collaboration aimed at advancing enterprise artificial intelligence adoption and industrial transformation for organisations in Australia.

The partnership centres on the development of a full-stack AI infrastructure designed to enhance sovereign AI capabilities. This will provide local businesses with the necessary tools to develop, own, and operate their own AI models, tailored to industry-specific requirements. These AI agents are expected to help automate complex tasks, improve productivity, and respond more effectively to local market needs across a variety of sectors, including manufacturing and healthcare.

Enhanced AI capabilities

The initiative will involve the integration of Fujitsu's forthcoming FUJITSU-MONAKA central processing unit with NVIDIA's graphics processing units through NVLink Fusion technology, which aims to significantly increase both efficiency and speed. Fujitsu's ARM-based Monaka processor, scheduled for availability in 2027, is projected to be twice as fast and twice as energy efficient as comparable chips at launch. This performance improvement could help to reduce data centre costs associated with running AI workloads.

"Fujitsu has a long history of driving technology innovation globally and here in Australia and New Zealand. By combining Fujitsu's computing power with NVIDIA's AI platform, this expanded partnership will make high-performance AI more accessible. This empowers local businesses to harness cutting-edge AI agents and computing power to tackle their most pressing challenges, from supply chain disruption to skills shortages. It will drive a new wave of sovereign innovation, ensuring they can lead and thrive on the global stage."

The collaboration is structured around three main areas: co-development of AI platforms, next-generation computing infrastructure, and customer engagement.

Full-stack infrastructure

Fujitsu and NVIDIA will co-develop an AI agent platform tailored for sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, and robotics. The platform will combine high-speed AI computing with multi-tenancy support and strong security features, based on Fujitsu Kozuchi and NVIDIA Dynamo platforms. It will also allow AI agents and models to evolve autonomously, addressing custom needs by leveraging NVIDIA NeMo and Fujitsu's AI agent technologies, including optimising the Takane AI model.

Developed AI agents will be provided as NVIDIA NIM microservices, intended to streamline AI adoption for customers through optimised inference capabilities.

The second area of focus involves the creation of a high-speed, next-generation computing infrastructure by connecting the FUJITSU-MONAKA CPU with NVIDIA GPUs using NVLink-Fusion. This platform is being developed to deliver zetascale performance at the silicon level and will be supported by integrated high-speed software, combining Fujitsu's ARM software technologies and NVIDIA CUDA.

Partnering for customer engagement

The companies plan to foster a robust partner ecosystem to scale AI agent and model adoption, with joint partner programmes to support growth. Use cases will be developed to demonstrate the AI infrastructure's capabilities starting in selected industries, while advanced technologies such as physical AI and robotics will be promoted to further societal transformation.

This collaboration builds on both companies' efforts to broaden access to AI technology, which can often be restricted to larger enterprises due to the cost and complexity of deployment. Fujitsu and NVIDIA aim to strengthen business competitiveness, while preserving corporate autonomy in the use of artificial intelligence.

"Fujitsu's strategic collaboration with NVIDIA will accelerate AI-driven business transformation in enterprise and government sectors. By combining the cutting-edge technologies of both companies, we will develop and provide full-stack AI infrastructure, starting with sectors such as manufacturing where Japan is a global leader. To further support the expanding needs of AI infrastructure, Fujitsu and NVIDIA will expand this partnership in the areas of high-performance computing and quantum."

Jensen Huang, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NVIDIA, explained the significance of the collaboration:

"The AI industrial revolution has begun, and we must build the infrastructure to power it - in Japan and across the globe. Fujitsu is a true pioneer in computing and Japan's trusted leader in supercomputing, quantum research, and enterprise systems. Together, NVIDIA and Fujitsu are connecting and extending our ecosystems to forge a powerful partnership for the era of AI."

Fujitsu aims to begin with applications in Japan and subsequently scale globally, intending to use the infrastructure as a foundation for accelerating enterprise AI market growth and supporting broader corporate development. The collaboration is expected to foster new AI markets, including those that have previously faced technical barriers, and to become an essential element in the advancement of digital society by 2030.
