Kinetic IT earns fifth Deloitte Best Managed award

Fri, 27th Feb 2026

Kinetic IT has been recognised for a fifth consecutive year in Deloitte Private Australia's Best Managed Companies Awards, which assess private businesses across strategy, culture and commitment, innovation, and governance and financial performance.

The annual awards highlight privately held companies and their contribution to the Australian economy. Deloitte benchmarks participants against a global network of more than 1,300 private companies that have taken part in the programme.

Kinetic IT is a privately owned technology services provider working across government, defence and critical industry sectors. It employs more than 1,450 people and has a national presence.

Interim Chief Executive Officer Shane Quinn linked the recognition to the company's operating approach and its work with customers in the public sector and critical infrastructure.

"We're honoured to be recognised once again as one of Australia's Best Managed Companies," Quinn said.

He described the fifth consecutive recognition as a milestone, citing governance and culture alongside delivery performance in regulated sectors.

"Achieving five consecutive awards is truly remarkable, and is testament to the strength of our strategy, the dedication of our people, and our commitment to supporting government and critical infrastructure with secure, reliable, and impactful outcomes. It also highlights the foundations we've worked hard to build - our operating model, governance, culture, and local expertise - which enable us to consistently deliver trusted results at scale," Quinn said.

Awards criteria

Deloitte Private Australia runs the local Best Managed Companies Awards, now in its sixth year in Australia. Companies are assessed against four pillars: strategy; culture and commitment; innovation; and governance and financial performance.

The wider Best Managed Companies programme began in Canada in 1993 and now operates across 46 countries in the Americas, Europe and Australasia. An independent judging panel evaluates participants, with input from programme sponsors and guest judges.

Deloitte Partner and Australia Best Managed Companies Leader Claire Szatsznajder said the theme for this year's programme was "connected for growth".

"We are proud to once again recognise and support Australia's outstanding private companies through the Best Managed Companies program," Szatsznajder said.

She said this year's winners shared an emphasis on strategic intent and execution.

"The theme for this year's program was 'connected for growth'. Our winners are defined by their strategic intention, with each organisation demonstrating a well-defined and executed strategy anchored in a compelling purpose and mission. We congratulate our winners for setting a new benchmark in private business excellence," she said.

Operational focus

Quinn said the past year included investment in internal capability and delivery discipline, which he positioned as important for customers in government and critical infrastructure.

"Over the past year, we've focused on strengthening execution and delivering real impact for our customers," Quinn said.

He said Kinetic IT would maintain a focus on governance, culture and long-term planning as it competes in the Australian technology services market.

"With a clear strategy, values-led culture, and strong governance, we aim to keep raising the bar for what 'best managed' looks like in Australia's technology and private sectors. This award reinforces the importance of long-term thinking, sustainable growth, and supporting Australia's sovereign digital capability," Quinn said.

Recent milestones

Kinetic IT cited several achievements during the year, including being named ServiceNow Consulting & Implementation Partner of the Year for Asia-Pacific. It also became the first organisation in Australia, and the second globally, to achieve SIAM Assured Service Partner status through Scopism.

The company was also a category finalist for 'Enterprise Partner of the Year' in the ARN Innovation Awards.

Kinetic IT has operated for more than 25 years and continues to invest in talent and innovation while working with organisations in sectors tied to national security and economic activity.

Winners in the Best Managed Companies programme take part in an eight-month assessment process that includes coaching and networking, according to Deloitte.
