Ingram Micro and Tech Data named distributors for Red Hat

Ingram Micro and Tech Data have been appointed as distributors for Red Hat's Certified Cloud and Service Provider (CCSP) programme, in response to increased interest in managed, multi-hybrid cloud solutions in New Zealand and Australia..

The two companies will work with Red Hat to qualify, recruit and onboard partners as Certified Cloud and Service Providers, as Red Hat expands its partner footprint across New Zealand and Australia.

Red Hat says as enterprises face increasingly complex cloud environments, an open hybrid cloud strategy enables companies across industries to provide solutions for legislative and industry compliance, support IT modernisation and uncover new business growth opportunities without the constraints of vendor lock-in.

"The Red Hat CCSP programme empowers ANZ solution providers with the flexibility and scalability to meet evolving customer needs through open, cloud-based technologies. With Ingram Micro and Tech Data as distributors, Red Hat is able to assist more organisations in the region address interest with open hybrid cloud innovation," the company says.

"Cloud provider models have expanded beyond simple, multi-tenant public clouds to include multi-hybrid cloud build-outs, Linux container-based infrastructure and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions," says Garry Gray, director, Partners and Alliances, Red Hat Australia and New Zealand.

"As customer needs evolve, Red Hat has invested in its regional channels so that partners receive training, enablement, service excellence, and robust benefits to deliver flexible Red Hat subscriptions and technologies.

"We are excited to have Ingram Micro and Tech Data on board to help expand the Red Hat CCSP program in Australia and New Zealand and drive further open hybrid cloud innovation," he says.

Red Hat's CCSP designation is awarded to partners that meet testing and certification requirements to deliver a scalable, supported and consistent environment with security features designed for enterprise cloud deployments.

The globally unified CCSP program assures customers, ISVs and partners that a given solution has been validated by Red Hat product experts so cloud implementations begin with a solid foundation. Ingram Micro and Tech Data will verify partners as Certified Cloud and Service Providers based on their ability to host and resell Red Hat's portfolio of technologies through a monthly, pay-as-you go subscription that supports multi-tenant, dedicated, hybrid and managed service delivery models.

Felix Wong, senior vice president and chief country executive, Ingram Micro says the company is excited to further expand its business with Red Hat through the Red Hat CCSP programme.

"This programme will provide our channel partners with new means to strengthen their cloud focus and create new offerings for customers," he says.

CCSPs can gain access to Red Hat solutions that not only offer a more secure, scalable platform for building public and private clouds, but also empower DevOps to develop, deploy and manage diverse applications seamlessly. Providers can use those solutions to improve operational efficiency and flexibility, expand their hybrid cloud service offerings and offer scalable, highly available third-party ISV applications on Red Hat technologies.

Wendy O'Keeffe, country general manager, Tech Data Australia and New Zealand, adds, "Expanding Tech Data's relationship with Red Hat to include cloud solutions will enable our partners to take advantage of next-generation open source cloud services to deliver reliable and scalable solutions in response to enterprise interest across the cloud landscape.

"In addition, we will be boosting our pre-sales resources specifically to support our partners with this transition," she says.
