Datadobi unveils StorageMAP 7.4 update to reduce storage costs

Datadobi has released Advanced Storage Optimizer, an addition to its StorageMAP platform intended to improve data visibility and cost management for enterprises dealing with unstructured data. The solution, now available in StorageMAP 7.4, provides users with detailed insights into storage use and cost-saving opportunities.

Cost management focus

Advanced Storage Optimizer highlights areas where storage tiers may be suboptimally used and suggests improvements that can help reduce overall spend. The tool identifies ageing and unused data, offering archiving options and recommending actions to streamline data and cut costs. It also aims to assist organisations in making informed decisions before data migrations by allowing users to model different scenarios and outcomes.

Continual monitoring of storage environments is included, allowing businesses to ensure ongoing efficiency and to remove irrelevant data before migrations, which can contribute to lower storage needs and expenses over time.

Expanded feature set

StorageMAP 7.4 also brings enhanced support for Microsoft Azure Blob archiving. This update integrates new automated reporting functions designed to both simplify operations and seamlessly fit into existing enterprise workflows. The automated reports can be scheduled at user-defined intervals, distributed in multiple formats, and delivered by email to relevant stakeholders. Options include presentations for executives and tabular data for programme analysis, enabling insights to be consistently shared across an organisation.
