Cloudflare has named Steve Bray as the new Head of Australia and New Zealand, effective immediately. Fresh on the heels of his tenure in leadership positions at tech giants such as Salesforce and Zendesk, Bray will apply his nearly 25 years of professional experience across innovative cloud-based software companies to further expand and develop Cloudflare's presence in the region.
As part of his mandate, Bray will continue supporting customers in Australia and New Zealand, whilst simultaneously focusing on building the brand, developing the local team and strengthening partner relationships.
"Amidst the rising volumes of cybersecurity incidents, Cloudflare is at the forefront of helping businesses secure applications, devices, and users in an ever-changing, complex threat environment," says Bray. "With Cloudflare’s vision for the future of the Internet in mind, I’m eager to continue helping our customers in Australia and New Zealand, while building our brand, local team, and partner ecosystem."
Revelling in a sustained presence in Australia and New Zealand since 2012, Cloudflare continues to underline its commitment to the technological resilience and growth of the region. The company noted that it blocked an average of 409 million cyber threats per day in Australia and New Zealand in the third quarter alone. Further demonstrating its expansive reach, Cloudflare's global network spans over 310 cities in more than 120 countries, including 11 cities in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania.
The company also opened a Sydney office in 2019 marking a key milestone in its regional expansion strategy. Not shy of targeting sophisticated organisations, Cloudflare aims to deliver faster, more reliable and secure Internet experiences than ever before.
Speaking about the new appointment, Jonathon Dixon, Vice President and Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Japan, and China at Cloudflare, says: "Australia and New Zealand’s most sophisticated organisations turn to Cloudflare for their cybersecurity and Internet performance needs. Our customers today have access to faster, more reliable, and more secure Internet experiences than ever before, and with Steve Bray’s extensive experience in the ANZ region, we look forward to providing more customers with the solutions they need to work, develop, and accelerate their business."
Coupled with a long-lasting commitment to the region is the company's promise of consistent innovation and enhanced security for digital platforms – a pledge that's pertinent in the face of an increasingly digitally-connected world. Cloudflare’s vision for a resilient and dynamically adaptive digital infrastructure has received a robust steward in Bray, making for an optimistic future for the Australia and New Zealand region under his skilled leadership.
