Amplitude launches Snowflake native analytics at summit
Amplitude, a digital analytics platform, has announced the general availability of its Snowflake native offering, marking a significant step as the first major enterprise application to re-platform on Snowflake. This announcement was made at the 2024 Snowflake Data Cloud Summit, highlighting a new solution that allows companies to harness Amplitude's advanced product analytics capabilities without the need to move data outside of Snowflake.
With this innovative offering, businesses can now perform comprehensive product analytics directly within the Snowflake environment, facilitating a deeper understanding of user journeys and enabling informed product decisions. Importantly, this approach ensures the maintenance of stringent privacy, security, and compliance standards, as the data remains securely within Snowflake.
Amplitude's integration with Snowflake is designed to capitalise on the significant investments companies have made to centralise their data within the Snowflake platform. Unlike previous models that required data storage or duplication across different platforms, this integration runs all queries directly within Snowflake, ensuring data is trusted, secure, and always up-to-date.
Chris Child, Vice President and Head of Worldwide Sales Engineering at Snowflake, said, "We aim to help every user build in the AI Data Cloud efficiently, delivering immediate business impact. Our ongoing investments with Amplitude allow this at a larger scale. Amplitude is renowned for its self-serve product analytics, and this new application enables customers to gain vital behavioural insights without their data ever leaving Snowflake."
In line with this new offering, Amplitude has made it free within all its plans, allowing even startups to benefit from up to five seats at no cost. This move makes Amplitude's advanced product analytics capabilities available to a broader range of businesses, from new ventures to large enterprises, regardless of their size or stage of development.
Francois Ajenstat, Chief Product Officer at Amplitude, expressed the company's commitment to providing customers with flexibility in data usage. "We want our customers to have the most choice and flexibility to leverage their data as they see fit. Now, with the synergy of Amplitude and Snowflake, customers can harness Snowflake's power without data ever leaving the platform. Teams can focus on creating remarkable customer experiences that drive business growth," he stated.
Amplitude further enriches its offering with integrations from over 130 data sources, providing customers with a wide array of options to manage and access their data within their digital ecosystems. This hybrid approach differs from other market solutions that force customers to opt for either native or non-native connections, offering a unique advantage to businesses looking to optimise data access and performance effectively.
Building applications on Snowflake benefits product and engineering teams by relieving operational burdens and providing access to resources for designing, marketing, and operating applications within the Data Cloud. These advantages enable teams to develop, scale, and operate their applications while delivering differentiated products to customers.
