Zetaris and Equinix team up to accelerate agentic AI innovation globally

Tue, 3rd Jun 2025

Zetaris, the company behind the Modern Lakehouse for AI, has announced a strategic collaboration with global digital infrastructure provider Equinix to accelerate the development and deployment of agentic AI applications across multiple industries.

This partnership aims to leverage Equinix's data centre facilities and interconnection services to enable rapid, secure, and scalable AI innovation.

Agentic AI, which refers to autonomous AI agents capable of performing complex tasks, is forecast to contribute over A$45 billion annually to Australia's economy by 2030.

However, challenges remain around ensuring quality, safety, and performance as AI adoption grows.

Zetaris is addressing these by hosting its AI platform within Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centres and utilising Equinix Fabric, the company's software-defined interconnection service.

Vinay Samuel, CEO and Founder of Zetaris, highlighted the benefits of this collaboration: "Zetaris is revolutionising industries with second-generation AI solutions, empowering organisations to achieve AI-driven success at unprecedented speed."

"Leveraging Equinix's global footprint and dense ecosystems of cloud and networks allows us to deliver real-time data and AI capabilities in a secure environment and scale according to our customer needs, helping customers transform operations, boost productivity, and enhance customer engagement," he added.

The Zetaris Modern Lakehouse platform supports real-time connectivity to multiple data sources without the need for data movement, reducing latency and integration complexity.

It offers one access point for all data, multi-model and multi-location support, and automated data engineering features that enable organisations to deploy AI agents in hours rather than months or years. The platform's applications include AI-driven roles such as mortgage brokers, bankers, insurance consultants, and clinical assistants, designed to reduce manual workloads, improve accuracy and enhance customer experiences.

Guy Danskine, Managing Director of Australia at Equinix, emphasised the role of infrastructure in supporting AI growth: "Equinix is proud to support Zetaris' AI-powered vision through our globally connected digital infrastructure. Together, we're providing the infrastructure and platform to power the future of AI – from concept to production – on a global scale. Zetaris and our customers will benefit from secure, on-demand, scalable data connectivity anywhere, showcasing the power of AI when backed by the right infrastructure."

This partnership also opens access to the Zetaris platform through the Equinix Marketplace, making AI-ready infrastructure and solutions available to Equinix Fabric customers at no cost. By situating the AI platform close to clouds, networks, and partners, the collaboration enables organisations to harness high-performance infrastructure and seamless interconnection vital for real-time AI processing.

Jon Lin, Chief Business Officer at Equinix, explained the necessity of infrastructure for AI: "AI is redefining what's possible for businesses, but to deliver on its promises, it demands access to high-performance infrastructure, proximity to data and seamless interconnection across rich ecosystems."

"We're helping Zetaris deploy AI at scale by bringing them closer to the clouds, networks and partners that matter most, enabling real-time data processing, enhanced security and the agility needed to unlock the full value of AI."

The Zetaris platform also supports emerging AI technologies, including holographic AI with voice and emotion recognition, which could lead to immersive and interactive AI experiences in the future.

Robert Herjavec, recently appointed Executive Director of Global Strategy at Zetaris and known for his investment role on the US and Australia version of Shark Tank, stated: "Zetaris is one of the most exciting AI platforms around and redefines how we harness real-time data across complex environments."

"As we scale globally, collaborating with Equinix gives us the infrastructure advantage to deliver this capability at speed and with precision, which is critical to meeting our customers where their data lives, whether in the cloud, on-prem, or at the edge, and accelerating AI outcomes on a global scale."

In a recent Q&A session, Guy Danskine, Robert Herjavec, and Vinay Samuel provided deeper insights into the AI landscape, challenges, and the partnership's future direction.

Robert Herjavec reflected on AI's broader impact.

"When the internet came out, nobody talked about, oh my gosh, all the people using fax machines are going to go out of business. What's going to happen? What do we do? We found a new medium in order to accelerate communication. AI is going to be the greatest enabler in human history. So it's not going to replace people. It's going to force companies to accelerate their value curve," he explained to TechDay.

"Any role that is pedantic and requires constant doing every day can be replaced by AI. But what are all those people going to do? ... I'm a huge fan, for obvious reasons, and a big believer this would be good for humanity."

Addressing data sovereignty and privacy, Vinay Samuel said: "As Harris mentioned, these highly regulated industries like financial services and healthcare require strong controls and systems for secure data access."

"This concept of private AI is critical – organisations want to train their own AI models on their data, not others. That's really the future of enterprise-grade AI."

Guy Danskine elaborated on common challenges faced by customers.

"The biggest challenge is the underlying data infrastructure. Many companies move too fast and don't build the right foundations. As the saying goes, put garbage in, get garbage out. It was true for cloud and mobile apps and it's certainly true for AI. Being inside Equinix gives customers access to the right networks, subsea cables, cloud providers, and AI infrastructure needed to build that properly."

Regarding Zetaris' competitive edge in a market with large incumbents, Vinay Samuel said:
"Our core advantage is agility. Large enterprises are stuck with slow, painful data migrations and preparation. Our platform automates this and can deliver a minimum viable AI outcome within weeks, unlike competitors who often offer only basic chatbots."

When asked about Zetaris' global growth ambitions, Robert Herjavec responded:
"We started in Australia but see this as a global market. Equinix is global, and that infrastructure advantage will allow us to scale rapidly outside Australia and New Zealand."

The Q&A offered a clear picture of how Zetaris and Equinix see agentic AI shaping industries, emphasising the importance of solid data infrastructure, secure and private AI, and the need to rapidly scale AI applications with the right global partnerships.

Key highlights of the partnership:

  • Zetaris' Modern Lakehouse for AI, hosted on Equinix's global infrastructure, enables rapid and secure AI agent deployment.
  • Real-time, federated data querying reduces latency, risk and integration complexity without moving data.
  • Zetaris platform is available free to Equinix Fabric customers via the Equinix Marketplace.
  • Agentic AI is forecast to add over A$45 billion annually to Australia's economy by 2030.
  • Equinix's infrastructure offers 99.999% resiliency and proximity to cloud, powering next-generation AI technologies.

The collaboration between Zetaris and Equinix underlines the critical role of secure and scalable digital infrastructure in driving the future of AI innovation across industries worldwide.
