xAmplify buys Accelerate IT in Western Australia push

xAmplify has acquired Accelerate IT Solutions, giving it an entry point into Western Australia.

The deal expands xAmplify's national footprint and adds a ServiceNow specialist with experience in government and enterprise transformation programmes in Western Australia. The combined business will have more than 250 employees across five locations, with plans to open an office in the state.

The move comes as Australian technology buyers reassess digital transformation projects in light of artificial intelligence and mounting pressure to link software spending more closely to operational change. Wayne Gowland, Chief Executive Officer of xAmplify, said customers were no longer looking for separate suppliers to manage different parts of a programme.

"Most organisations have plenty of technology already. What they're trying to work out now is how to make it all work together and get more value from what they've invested in," Gowland said.

He said clients increasingly wanted one provider to oversee strategy, implementation, change management and ongoing operations, rather than managing multiple firms.

"Customers don't want to manage several different partners across strategy, platforms, cyber, change management and ongoing operations. They want one team that understands the bigger picture, brings those capabilities together and takes responsibility for the outcome.

"Five years ago, the focus was on implementing new technology. Today it's about helping organisations embed it into the way they operate. That's where the real work is, and that's where Accelerate IT Solutions strengthens our capability.

"That's also why we've kept investing in our ServiceNow practice. The platform sits at the centre of how many of our government and enterprise customers run their operations, and Accelerate IT Solutions deepens what we can deliver on it nationally," Gowland said.

National push

xAmplify describes itself as a technology and transformation partner spanning strategy and change, artificial intelligence, cyber security, managed services, cloud and enterprise platforms. The acquisition adds further depth in ServiceNow, a software platform widely used by large organisations to manage workflows and service operations.

Accelerate IT Solutions has built its reputation on ServiceNow work for government and enterprise customers in Western Australia. Its founders said the market had shifted from demand for technical delivery alone to demand for broader advisory and operational support.

The transaction extends a period of acquisition-led growth for xAmplify. Over the past year, it has also bought CTO Group and Green Cloud Consulting, while continuing to receive backing from Macquarie Capital Principal Finance.

ServiceNow focus

The acquisition highlights the importance of ServiceNow in the local technology services market, particularly among public sector and large corporate customers seeking to standardise internal systems and reduce the number of vendors involved in major transformation programmes.

Myia Ross, Group Vice President, APAC Partnerships and Channels at ServiceNow, said the enlarged business should make it easier for Australian customers to manage programmes from start to finish.

"Customers don't want to deal with multiple handoffs between different teams handling implementation, change management and ongoing operations. What xAmplify and Accelerate are building together is a single Australian team that can carry a ServiceNow program end-to-end, no matter where they are. And this is exactly what customers are telling us they need," Ross said.

For xAmplify, the move into Western Australia fills a geographic gap at a time when customers are seeking national delivery from fewer suppliers. It also gives the company a larger base from which to pursue bigger contracts across government and regulated industries, where buyers often prefer partners with local staff and ongoing operational support.

Gowland said the market was moving beyond technology deployment towards broader organisational redesign, particularly as artificial intelligence tools begin to affect decision-making and day-to-day work.
