Wavelink gets sole Claroty distributorship for Australia

Tue, 9th Apr 2024

Wavelink, a provider of enterprise solutions, has been granted sole distributorship of the full business division of Claroty in Australia, as announced by the cyber-physical systems protection innovator.

This strategic alliance is said to amplify Wavelink's role from its 2022 appointment as the Australian distributor for Medigate by Claroty, a specialised platform providing cyber-physical system protection for the healthcare sector. Wavelink's purview will now span across commercial, industrial, and healthcare business segments within Australia, extending Claroty's faith in Wavelink's proficiencies and commitment to service.

The past twenty years have seen Wavelink at the fore of local representation for international vendors, facilitating the deployment of technology solutions to local reseller networks in Australia and New Zealand. Wavelink's focus on fostering business and partner development, along with strategic co-marketing, pre- and post-sales support, will be key in nurturing Claroty's enterprise growth in the region, the company states.

The move holds significant implications for Claroty's clientele, offering them bolstered on-ground support at a crucial time. In line with the Australian Government's 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy, the cyber risk hovering over Australian businesses is predicted to escalate in this year. Reports suggest a cyber crime is notified every six minutes, with ransomware charging the Australian economy up to $3 billion in damages annually.

The expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), coupled with a rapidly engaging digital transformation across industries, has intensified the risks for Australian organisations. This trend is further accentuated by the prevailing geopolitical environment posing significant challenges. In light of this, Claroty and Wavelink have pledged their support to deliver cybersecurity solutions and technical assistance to tackle the swelling risks stemming from AI, ML and the digital transformation sweeping across varied sectors.

Nick Nindra, Claroty's regional vice president of channels and alliances, Asia-Pacific and Japan, expressed enthusiasm over the partnership expansion. He stated, "Claroty is delighted to expand its partnership with Wavelink, who has a proven track record in the enterprise technology space. Through this ongoing partnership, Claroty will bring its strong capabilities in protecting the cyber-physical assets to more organisations in Australia."

Wavelink CEO Ilan Rubin echoed similar sentiments, articulating the company's dedication to operational technology (OT) security and celebrating the extended affiliation with Claroty. "The expanded relationship with Claroty enables Wavelink to deliver OT and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) solutions to existing and new partners across a range of verticals. Claroty's alignment to the company's existing vendors and its global leadership of the OT security space make Claroty a perfect and exciting addition to Wavelink's portfolio," remarked Rubin.
