ShiftLink has launched an AI-powered workforce and service management platform for NDIS providers in Australia, bringing staff and participant tools together in one system.

The Melbourne-based company says the platform combines an administration panel with 12 AI assistants, a mobile app for staff, configurable participant access, compliance reporting, payroll records and GPS-based attendance tracking. It is aimed at disability service providers managing rostering, documentation, incident reporting and audit preparation under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

At the centre of the product is an administration panel with specialist tools described as an AI Compliance Manager, an AI Operations Manager and an AI Roster Manager. These are intended to help providers manage routine administration, record checks, scheduling and operational workflows.

The platform was developed to address common administrative tasks in disability services, including rostering, attendance verification, travel records, compliance documentation and payroll administration. Providers can also upload existing information from spreadsheets and other supported file formats during onboarding.

Mobile access

The ShiftLink mobile app is available on Apple and Android devices for support workers and, where enabled, NDIS participants. For staff, it includes GPS-enabled clock-in and clock-out functions to maintain attendance records and verify presence against shift information.

It also records travel distances when support workers travel with participants, which may help providers with travel documentation. Staff can use the app to complete day-to-day administrative tasks and enter notes from mobile devices while away from the office.

Providers can configure participant access. This may allow participants to accept eligible shift or service requests, request service changes, and submit reviews or feedback through the app.

Documentation tools

One of the main functions is voice-to-text documentation for support workers. Staff can speak notes in a supported language, and the system converts the spoken information into English text for documentation and incident reporting.

This feature is intended to make reporting more accessible for multilingual workforces and reduce the time spent typing reports manually. Generated reports still require staff review and verification before they are finalised.

ShiftLink has also included automated compliance audit reporting. The platform compiles system records into reports intended to help providers prepare documents for NDIS compliance processes, while centralising staff, shift, service and incident records for authorised access.

The reporting functions are designed to support existing compliance processes rather than replace professional judgement, regulatory obligations or independent verification.

Payroll and storage

The system includes payroll record management for staff hours and related information. It can also support integration with accounting and payroll workflows through potential API connections with Xero or MYOB, depending on technical requirements and implementation arrangements.

This is intended to reduce duplicate data entry between operational systems and accounting software. ShiftLink says its database and backup storage are located in Australia, which may be relevant for organisations handling sensitive disability service information.

Rollout plans

Providers can begin using the platform in about an hour if the necessary information is prepared in advance. ShiftLink also offers ready-made service agreement templates that providers can review and adapt, alongside options to customise system settings, workflows and features.

The company is offering free trials to NDIS providers so they can test the app, participant access, AI administration tools, GPS tracking, voice-to-text functions, compliance reporting and payroll records before making a buying decision.

The launch comes as disability service providers look for ways to manage rising administrative workloads tied to workforce coordination, record keeping and regulatory oversight. ShiftLink says its platform is designed to bring those processes into a single system with mobile access for workers and participants.

The platform includes "12 AI staff assistants", a dedicated staff mobile app, configurable participant access, and Australian-based data storage and backups.
