Rimini Street's VMware support gains global traction
Rimini Street has announced that clients globally are opting for its VMware support services, aimed at extending the life and value of their VMware perpetual licenses.
The service, launched in May, enables organisations to avoid significant price increases and gain the time needed to plan their future virtualisation strategies.
Broadcom's acquisition of VMware in November 2023 led to the introduction of a new subscription-based licensing model that required the bundling of previously unselected products.
This change has caused concerns among VMware customers. Dave Rowe, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Rimini Street, explained, "Many organisations have perpetual licenses to use VMware products but are now facing end of support deadlines and significant annual fee increases."
Rowe further noted that Rimini Street's services help clients by providing a window to evaluate their options.
"Rimini Street gives VMware customers the time they need to evaluate if they are going to eventually accept their new licensing model and fees, or evaluate, select, and implement a new virtualisation platform. Selecting Rimini Support for VMware buys organisations time to perform this analysis and make and implement these critical infrastructure decisions," he said.
In just three months since the service's launch, Rimini Street's VMware support has seen adoption by clients across four continents and various industries.
Clients are drawn not only by the potential for cost savings but also due to the company's reputation for high-quality, expert-driven support. Rimini Street provides global coverage, robust security services, and a wide array of supported VMware products alongside strategic technical roadmapping services.
One notable client, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE), has praised Rimini Street's VMware support since making the switch in July.
"The Rimini Street VMware support experience is the best we've ever had," said Jean-Pierre Roullin, ALE's Head of EMEA Technology.
"We are impressed with both the quality of the support and the depth of services we receive from Rimini Street. We highly recommend business leaders seek them out for their VMware needs."
Existing Rimini Street clients have also extended their engagements to include VMware support. Rodney Kenyon, Group Vice President of Global Professional Services at Rimini Street, shared an example from the lottery and gaming industry.
"One of our long-time clients recently selected Rimini Support for VMware. They have been with us since 2007, leveraging us for deep savings, and better, wider scope of support for their various Oracle product lines."
"With cost efficiency and high-quality support being priorities, the client's new VP of IT was able to show both immediate strategic and operational benefits to the organisation making him the hero to the IT and finance departments," he said.
