Oracle expands Defence Ecosystem with new global AI startups

Tue, 14th Oct 2025

Oracle has announced the expansion of its Defence Ecosystem with the addition of a new cohort of companies from Australia, New Zealand, and other allied nations to drive innovation in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity for national security purposes.

The Defence Ecosystem, established by Oracle in June 2025, is a global initiative developed to accelerate technological progress and enhance the capabilities of defence communities in the United States and its allied countries. The programme connects startups, scale-ups, and established firms to foster collaboration and facilitate the secure adoption of next-generation technologies, particularly cloud and AI solutions, by government organisations.

The latest additions to the ecosystem include companies with expertise in autonomous systems, cyber resilience, and AI-powered situational awareness. The second cohort features organisations such as Airis Labs, Heven AeroTech, Duality Technologies, Strider Technologies, American Binary, Defence Unicorns, Druid Software, Galvanick, Reka, and Scaleout.

Oracle states that these new members will benefit from access to Oracle's resources, receive preferred pricing, and obtain expert guidance aimed at expediting solution development and enhancing their positioning in the defence sector. This support is intended to help facilitate results for the U.S. Department of War, allied government agencies, and industry participants.

Defence innovation

Emerging threats demand fast, secure, and collaborative innovation," said Rand Waldron, vice president, Oracle. "Through the Oracle Defence Ecosystem, we are committed to enabling the next generation of defence innovators to solve vital national security challenges with speed and scale. The incredible response to our inaugural cohort demonstrated the urgent need for such partnerships. We are thrilled to welcome a new group of visionary companies to this growing community.

The programme aims to streamline adoption of advanced technology for defence applications, empowering ecosystem members to contribute to national security efforts through their specialised digital tools and services. Activities within the ecosystem include rapid prototyping and deployment of AI and cloud-based solutions for operational defence missions.

Second cohort activities

Oracle emphasised that the new group of companies specialise in key domains such as secure communications, AI-driven situational analysis, autonomous operation, cyber defence, and data analytics. The organisations selected for this second cohort join a group of existing members who have already begun accelerating digital transformation across the defence landscape.

Members from the first cohort, including Arqit, Blackshark.ai, Entanglement, Fenix Group, Koniku, Kraken, Mattermost, Metron, SensusQ, and Whitespace, are reported by Oracle to have demonstrated the value of the Defence Ecosystem. According to Oracle, these companies have successfully developed and fielded cloud and AI solutions to meet high-priority challenges facing defence organisations.

The Defence Ecosystem facilitates integration between Oracle's cloud platform and the solutions developed by cohort members, with the intention of improving operational readiness for defence customers and expediting the movement of innovation from pilot stage to field use.

Global security focus

Oracle cites the continued expansion of its Defence Ecosystem as evidence of its focus on providing advanced technological support to the United States and allied governments. The company notes that this collaborative framework is designed to help maintain a strategic advantage in an increasingly complex and dynamic global security environment.

The initiative, according to Oracle, is structured to allow participating organisations to play an active role in shaping the future of defence and national security. The company also states that the ecosystem supports the accelerated development and deployment of advanced defence technologies.
