Wed, 3rd Jul 2024

KPMG Australia has been named a finalist in two categories for the 2024 Global Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards. The recognition comes in the AI Innovation – Business Transformation and Industry Nonprofit categories. The company stood out amongst top Microsoft partners for its excellence in innovation and implementing customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.

Tim Robinson, Partner-in-charge of Technology Consulting at KPMG Australia, expressed the company's excitement over the nominations. “We’re delighted to be showcasing Australian innovation on the worldwide stage, and to have our cutting-edge generative AI KymChat suite of solutions recognised by these global Microsoft awards. We’re also excited to be a finalist in the nonprofit industry award - highlighting the effectiveness of our Powered Enterprise approach to transforming core technology infrastructure,” he said.

Robinson described how these awards underscore the evolution of KPMG Australia's business. “These awards reflect the evolution of our business, the continued innovation in our service offerings to market, and continued investments in end-to-end Microsoft capability from infrastructure to safe and secure AI technology,” he added.

The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards celebrate Microsoft's partners who have delivered notable Microsoft Cloud applications, services, devices, and AI innovations over the past year. This year, awards were categorised across various areas, with finalists selected from over 4,700 nominations from more than 100 countries.

The AI Innovation Partner—Business Transformation category highlights partners that develop solutions that balance intelligence, creativity, productivity, and connectivity. This category is focused on solutions that unlock new business value at scale, disrupt the status quo by introducing new ways to interact with technology, and provide consistent experiences across devices and platforms.

KPMG Australia's proprietary enterprise-grade AI agent, KymChat, built using a range of Azure OpenAI services, earned recognition in this category. KymChat powers multiple use cases and is employed by KPMG to enhance efficiency and improve people's experiences. Additionally, KPMG is committed to assisting clients in accelerating their AI adoption with KymChat, broadening the suite of solutions to include applications such as AI-driven compliance and KymTax.

In the Industry Nonprofit category, which honours partners who provide innovative services or cloud solutions to help nonprofits address major challenges and achieve their missions, KPMG excelled. Utilising its Powered Enterprise approach and accelerators, KPMG has transformed the core technology infrastructure for nonprofit clients. The firm's efforts delivered a preconfigured instance of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Customer Engagement on Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit, offering clients leading practice functions, clarity, direction, and a de-risked approach.

Nicole Dezen, Chief Partner Officer and Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, said, "Congratulations to the winners and finalists of the 2024 Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards! The momentum generated by numerous AI & Copilot announcements this year fueled innovation from our partners, enabling ground-breaking services and solutions to customers. I am inspired by the capability and creativity in our partner ecosystem, and this year's winners beautifully demonstrate the best of what’s possible with AI and the Microsoft Cloud."
