Illumio & Kyndryl team up to drive enterprise Zero Trust resilience
Illumio has entered a collaboration with Kyndryl to provide advanced breach containment solutions and accelerate the adoption of Zero Trust security practices among enterprise customers. The alliance aims to address persistent challenges around cyber risk, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
Zero Trust focus
The partnership unites Illumio's AI-driven breach containment technology and Kyndryl's microsegmentation implementation services. The combined offering is designed to limit the spread of cyberattacks, minimise potential business disruptions, and support organisations in achieving resilience objectives through scalable Zero Trust solutions.
Context over visibility
Research indicates that while a significant portion of organisations-particularly in Australia-are monitoring their hybrid networks, nearly half report that basic visibility of traffic is not enough. Teams often lack the necessary context to interpret data effectively and act on threats. Illumio Insights, part of the Illumio Platform, leverages an AI-powered security graph to deliver real-time visibility into network traffic, focusing on actionable intelligence rather than passive monitoring.
Reducing threat dwell time
Illumio Insights helps security operations centre (SOC) teams and incident responders to uncover risks by observing all network flows and identifying potentially malicious activity. The technology visualises traffic patterns and flags lateral movement risks, enabling rapid detection and isolation. Workloads impacted by threats can be dynamically quarantined, reducing the potential blast radius and speeding up incident response times.
Kyndryl's managed services
Kyndryl will deploy and manage Illumio's solutions across enterprise environments. Its teams worldwide are certified to implement these technologies, supporting integration and ongoing operations. Kyndryl's managed services are designed to assist organisations in implementing segmentation strategies, thereby helping them to contain breaches and ensure operational continuity at scale.
Customer outcomes
Companies benefitting from the combined offering are expected to achieve faster rollouts of Zero Trust architectures and quick deployment of AI-powered threat detection across large networks. Customers can segment networks and workloads proactively to isolate incidents and reduce the risk of attack propagation. The collaboration also aims to help organisations scale these defences in diverse environments, including on-premises, cloud and edge infrastructure, and to align with various risk management and compliance requirements.
Market response
"This collaboration is a model for how Zero Trust should be delivered-globally and with measurable impact," said Todd Palmer, Senior Vice President of Global Partner Sales and Alliances, Illumio. "Together with Kyndryl's expertise, we're embedding breach containment into the fabric of enterprise security, enabling organisations to stay resilient and compliant in the face of evolving threats."
