HP selects Multimedia Technology to distribute AI-ready Z workstations
HP has appointed Multimedia Technology as a Tier-1 distribution partner for Z by HP workstations and associated solutions across Australia.
The agreement enables Multimedia Technology (MMT) to distribute HP's Z by HP workstations, commercial displays, performance accessories, care packs, and supporting software, including HP Anyware. This arrangement aims to establish a focused distribution channel for advanced computing products, specifically targeting the growing requirements of small- and medium-sized businesses and companies prioritising artificial intelligence (AI)-centric solutions.
Distribution and AI readiness
MMT will activate its national network of value-added resellers, system integrators, and managed service providers to provide AI-ready solutions that integrate Z by HP systems with NVIDIA RTX professional graphics processing units (GPUs), as well as infrastructure from MMT's strategic partner portfolio. The partnership includes expert support services both before and after sales.
The new distributor appointment coincides with HP's anticipated launch of the ZGX Nano AI Station, its version of the NVIDIA DGX Spark platform. This product is designed to introduce a new category of personal AI supercomputers, offering localised hardware and software stacks for AI developers to build, test, and optimise models while retaining data security and flexibility.
"This is a match made for the market we serve," said Johan Meyer, CEO, Multimedia Technology. "Partners are asking for the performance, reliability and ecosystem depth that Z by HP brings - and they want it packaged as complete, deploy-today solutions. By combining HP's world-class workstations with our NVIDIA strengths, infrastructure portfolio and national AI specialist team, we're making advanced computing accessible and practical for every ambitious Australian business."
Partnership deliverables
Through the agreement, the partners aim to provide a dedicated distribution channel for Z by HP performance platforms, HP commercial displays, accessories, care services, and software. The arrangement also delivers direct access to NVIDIA workstation GPU resellers and NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN) affiliates, supporting comprehensive AI and visualisation solutions throughout the sales channel.
In addition, there will be expanded joint marketing initiatives between NVIDIA and Z by HP to generate new business opportunities. The collaboration seeks to commercialise AI within SMB and SME sectors by offering bundled solutions, reference designs, and services that simplify deployment and reduce time to value.
"HP is doubling down on the innovators powering Australia's next wave of growth - from design studios and engineering firms to AI-first startups," said Chris Hewlett, Director, Commercial Channel - Australia, HP Australia. "MMT's specialist reach, NVIDIA ecosystem connectivity and hands-on enablement make them the ideal Tier-1 partner to put Z by HP in more customers' hands, faster, with the support and services partners expect."
Product coverage and support
Multimedia Technology will distribute both mobile and desktop Z by HP workstations, with configurations validated for workloads including AI development, data science, media and entertainment, architecture, engineering and construction, healthcare imaging, and advanced visualisation. These workstations will be complemented by HP commercial displays, performance accessories, HP Care Pack services, and HP Anyware for secure remote work and collaboration.
"Channel partners don't want a component hunt - they want a performance-guaranteed, supportable solution they can stand behind. Together with HP, we're turning AI and high-end visualisation from a science project into a competitive advantage for every customer." Johan Meyer, CEO Multimedia Technology
MMT's offering includes a customisable NVIDIA GPU portfolio and the ability to supply ready-to-deploy solutions supported by major technology partners. The company supports its channel with a national team of AI specialists who assist with solution design, proof of concept, sizing, optimisation, and ongoing support throughout the product's lifecycle.
"Z by HP is purpose-built for the most demanding professional workloads, whether it's AI development or high-end creative production," says Chris Hewlett, Director, Commercial Channel Australia at HP. "As the Future of Work evolves, we're focused on delivering technology that meets the real-world needs of modern creators and innovators. Our partnership with MMT, combined with their expertise and focus on NVIDIA NPN connectivity, gives partners a faster path to design-wins and certified stacks to scale their business."
Ecosystem and services
The MMT distribution ecosystem spans several technology segments, including NVIDIA and Z by HP for workstations and edge computing, along with infrastructure from partners such as Cisco, Supermicro, DDN, Synology, Lenovo, and Vertiv. For extended reality, MMT offers solutions from PICO, and among its software portfolio are NVIDIA AI Enterprise, NVIDIA Omniverse, HP Anyware, and HP AI Studio.
MMT provides local inventory, financing options, solution design assistance, integration services, and enablement programmes from offices in Australia's major capital cities, aligning with the continued growth of AI and high-performance computing.
The HP-MMT distribution agreement will be effective from 1 November 2025, with Australian resellers, integrators, and managed service providers able to engage MMT account teams for support with configurations, pricing, and enablement resources.
