Hills adds to ANZ portfolio with BQT Solutions distie deal
Hills has added BQT Solutions smart card and reader solutions, biometric scanners and electronic locking products to its portfolio after signing an ANZ-wide distribution deal for the products.
BQT Solutions is a division of ASX-listed MaxSec Group, and designs, develops and manufactures the Mifare Classic and Mifare DESFire ranges of smart card and biometric access control technologies, along with electromechanical locking products.
Geoff Cleaves, MaxSec Group chief executive, says BQT is well positioned to build a solid relationship with Hills by supplying its distribution range of products.
"This agreement further emphasises our strategy to rapidly increase BQT Solutions' business by growing our routes to market for our range of quality, reliable products," Cleaves says.
Hills has been undergoing a restructure in recent years as the 70-year-old company moves from being a manufacturing business to a technology player.
Late last year Hills acknowledged that the last three years of transformation and restructure hasn't been a smooth process and it will take more time to return to 'the profitability expected for a company of our size'.
