HCLTech & NVIDIA open Santa Clara lab for AI & robotics

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

HCLTech and NVIDIA have launched a new facility in Santa Clara focused on helping enterprises develop applications for physical artificial intelligence (AI) and cognitive robotics. The initiative aims to provide large companies with resources to experiment, incubate and scale projects in automation and robotics, integrating advanced simulation and AI capabilities.

Facility focus

The new lab operates as part of HCLTech's global AI Lab network. It aims to support Global 2000 companies in advancing their physical AI strategies by bringing together elements of simulation, robotics, autonomous systems, and intelligent edge technologies. The lab will use core NVIDIA technologies, such as Omniverse, Metropolis, Isaac Sim, Jetson and Holoscan, alongside HCLTech's own AI solutions, including VisionX, Kinetic AI, IEdgeX and SmartTwin.

Industry applications

The development is targeted at businesses across a range of industries seeking to boost their competitiveness by leveraging AI-led automation and robotics. Current clients for HCLTech's physical AI solutions include a range of large enterprises, such as a prominent port operator, a major technology firm, and a European mining company.

Bridging gaps

"Generative physical AI is set to revolutionize industrial automation, but bridging the gap from digital simulation to real-world deployment remains a critical challenge," said Deepu Talla, VP of Robotics and Edge AI, NVIDIA. "HCLTech's innovation lab will help enterprises develop, test and validate the complex autonomous systems needed to turn AI ambitions into operational reality."

Strategic collaboration

HCLTech will contribute its global AI engineering and service capabilities, working closely with NVIDIA's platform technologies to support the development and deployment of advanced cognitive robotics and automation. The collaboration is intended to enable enterprises to redesign physical operations and drive operational intelligence.

"By combining HCLTech's global AI Engineering capabilities with NVIDIA's cutting-edge platforms, this new collaboration marks a pivotal step in strengthening our synergy in the Physical AI space. It empowers enterprises to reimagine physical operations, driving breakthroughs in robotics, automation, safety and operational intelligence, reinforcing our commitment to scaling AI-led transformation across industries and further deepening our strategic collaboration with NVIDIA," said Vijay Guntur, CTO and Head of Ecosystems, HCLTech.

Real-world environments

HCLTech's existing suite of physical AI solutions focuses on providing robotics, autonomous systems, and intelligent edge technologies that can enhance productivity and sustainability in operational environments. These solutions are designed to take advantage of AI, simulation tools, and digital twin technologies to improve decision-making and performance for enterprises with complex and distributed operations.

Client base

HCLTech has established a client base in the physical AI space, collaborating with large organisations in sectors including logistics, technology manufacturing, and mining. The new lab is expected to expand its ability to help organisations increase resilience and efficiency in their physical processes through the adoption of AI, robotics, and related digital tools.
