Greenhouse has announced an expansion of its operations into Australia, including a planned investment to grow its presence and support services in the country.
The company, which provides a hiring platform for small businesses and enterprises, intends to invest over AUD $2 million during the next twelve months to support its growth in Australia. Part of this investment will be used to double the headcount of Greenhouse's Australia-based team.
Included in the expansion plans are the appointment of several senior staff, including a country manager, and the establishment of a physical office within Sydney's central business district. Greenhouse also revealed intentions to place a local data centre in Australia, aiming to enhance the user experience for its customers by improving speed and service reliability.
Commenting on the development, Daniel Chait, Chief Executive Officer at Greenhouse, described the move as a significant step for the company's business in the Asia-Pacific region:
"Establishing a local presence in Sydney is a major growth milestone for us. For the past decade we have built an impressive client base across Australia. We currently have over 200 customers in the region, and we have worked with numerous high-growth Australian brands such as The Iconic and VGW. We also have several local business partners such as Xref, Remote and HiBob. Australia currently accounts for a third of our APAC business, and this new investment signifies our commitment to helping our local customers achieve their business goals using our platform."
Greenhouse's software suite is designed to streamline several recruitment processes, from sourcing to interviewing, with the application of artificial intelligence in its workflows. The company also places a focus on embedding diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) principles throughout the hiring process, and provides analytical reporting to inform recruitment decisions.
The expansion arrives in what Greenhouse describes as an increasingly competitive recruitment environment for Australian firms. The company aims to distinguish itself by offering an integrated platform with a range of hiring support features.
Daniel Chait noted the company's intentions in the competitive landscape:
"In a competitive hiring market, we want to ensure that Greenhouse is the only hiring platform Australian companies need, with best-in-class tools and innovative AI-powered solutions, to help them secure top talent and become great at hiring."
Earlier this month, Greenhouse announced new products, among them Real Talent, a solution aimed at addressing spam, fraud, and cheating within the hiring process. Real Talent applies artificial intelligence to help recruiters with sorting and fraud detection, with the goal of allowing recruitment teams to focus on suitable candidates. This product is scheduled to become available to Australian customers later in the year.
