Getac adds two new mobile workstations to growing portfolio
Getac has added two new mobile workstations to its growing portfolio, hoping the devices will help increase performance and reliability when conducting complex operations in the field.
The X600 and X600 Pro are 15.6" fully-rugged mobile workstations, and the company says that they can deliver comprehensive mobile command computing, control, and planning workflows across a diverse range of operational environments and sectors.
The X600 expands on workstation computing power, with the options of the 11th gen Intel Core H-series processor (up to i9) and 128GB of memory, alongside NVIDIA Quadro RTX3000 discrete graphics controller. NVIDIA Quadro RTX3000 can significantly enhance graphics capabilities, and extended memory capability can help maintain high-quality performance.
The company says both models will combine longer battery and storage capabilities, packaged in a compact and lightweight design.
The X600 expandability capabilities are built to match modern data demands, supporting three peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) solid state drives (SSDs) for up to 6TB of internal storage.
The X600 pro model takes this a step further, with dual hot-swappable batteries, alongside the capacity for two additional media bay batteries, which together deliver more than 240Wh in a single device. It also has Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) and Express card slots and DVD super drive/optional blu-ray drive support.
Security is also something the company has focused on when creating the new devices. The X600 includes physical security and data security features such as self-encrypting drives, a smart card reader, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, Intel vPro technology, optional Windows Hello face-authentication, and optional fingerprint reader. A built-in Kensington lock slot can be used to protect the device against theft.
The device also includes multiple input/output (I/O) interfaces, such as Thunderbolt 4, Universal Serial Bus (USB) 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), DisplayPort, Video Graphics Array (VGA), and serial port.
IP66-rated ingress protection, MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G and optional CID2 (ANSI/UL 12.12.91) certification, are all utilised to withstand rugged conditions, along with vibration and 1.2 metre (4 feet) drop resistance, as well as optional salt fog-resistance.
Getac Technology Corporation president Rick Hwang says the new solutions will provide industries with advanced technology that will suit many conditions, and the company is committed to meeting continuing customer needs and demands.
"With the launch of the X600 rugged mobile workstation, Getac is once again raising the bar for the rugged mobile computing industry, delivering desktop-level performance and exceptional reliability in a single, complete package," he says.
"Just like the award-winning B360, the X600 has been inspired by our customers and our commitment to helping them meet their growing need for powerful yet portable field operations solutions that can handle tasks of enormous complexity.
