Gallagher Security held its Queensland Security Forum in Brisbane, bringing together more than 150 security professionals from Queensland and Papua New Guinea.

Attendees included channel partners, end users, consultants and technology partners. The event focused on knowledge-sharing and discussion of security issues affecting the market.

Pedro De Jesus, Sales Manager - Queensland and Papua New Guinea, said the forum highlighted the importance of industry engagement as security requirements change across organisations and infrastructure operators.

"One of the most rewarding aspects of this year's forum was seeing so many people from across the industry come together in one place. Whether it was end users sharing their experiences, channel partners discussing new opportunities, or people exploring new solutions, the day reinforced how much can be achieved when the industry works collaboratively to address common challenges and drive innovation," said De Jesus, Sales Manager - Queensland and Papua New Guinea, Gallagher Security.

The Brisbane forum featured presentations from Gallagher executives and managers on several themes in the security sector, including integrated security systems, the protection of critical assets and infrastructure, and the broader use of technology to improve operations.

Speakers included Scott Johnstone, Director of Sales - Australia; Dean Matheson, National Technical Manager; Andrew Myssonski, High Security and Federal Manager; and Danielle Mitchell, Training Manager for APAC and IMEA.

Partner focus

Technology partners Anomaly, Commend, Entrust and Salto Systems also took part in the forum. Their presence highlighted how third-party products can be integrated into Gallagher's broader security system.

The event formed part of Gallagher's regional push in Queensland and Papua New Guinea, where it works with a network of channel partners and customers across the security market. Both markets remain important to the company's sales and partner strategy in the region.

Security vendors and integrators increasingly use regional forums and partner events to keep customers and resellers informed about changes in risk management, physical access control and site monitoring. These gatherings also give suppliers a way to discuss how different systems are being linked as buyers look to reduce fragmentation across estates and facilities.

In sectors such as critical infrastructure, the need to connect access control, identity tools, communications systems and monitoring platforms has become a greater part of procurement and upgrade decisions. This has created more scope for security suppliers and technology partners to present joint approaches to customers, particularly where sites have complex operational requirements.

De Jesus said Queensland and Papua New Guinea continue to be important markets for Gallagher, supported by longstanding channel relationships, and that end users in those markets need access to technology, expertise and support services as security needs evolve.

"Queensland and Papua New Guinea continue to be important markets for Gallagher, supported by a strong network of longstanding channel partners. We're committed to investing in these markets and supporting our partners, and ensuring end users have access to the technology, expertise, and services they need to succeed," De Jesus said.
