Concentric AI taps Sektor to expand in Australia, NZ
Concentric AI has signed a distribution agreement with Sektor, extending its reach into Australia and New Zealand through Sektor's network of resellers, managed security service providers, and systems integrators.
The agreement makes Sektor an authorised distributor for Concentric AI in both markets. Sektor will provide partner enablement, go-to-market support, and local expertise for Concentric AI's AI and data security governance platform.
The deal comes as organisations in the region face rising scrutiny over data handling and the use of AI tools in business operations. Security teams are also under pressure from growing volumes of data stored across cloud services and on-premises environments.
Channel push
Sektor describes itself as a locally owned specialist distributor focused on cyber and information security. It operates as part of Sektor Group and works with security vendors and channel partners across Australia and New Zealand.
Under the agreement, Sektor becomes Concentric AI's preferred partner for AI and data security governance in the region. The partnership is positioned around customer demand for stronger visibility into sensitive data and greater control over how it is used, including in AI systems.
Data sprawl is now common in modern IT environments, with information spread across multiple cloud platforms, collaboration tools, and legacy applications. This growth can increase the risk of inappropriate access through excessive permissions and unmanaged sharing.
The wider adoption of generative AI adds a new class of data exposure concerns. Staff can paste confidential information into prompts, sometimes without clear policy guidance or technical controls. In regulated industries, this can create compliance and audit issues as well as security risk.
Platform focus
Concentric AI's platform focuses on discovering and monitoring sensitive data across environments, including cloud and on-premises systems.
At its core is Concentric AI Semantic Intelligence, which uses proprietary AI and large language models to discover and continuously monitor data for risk. The platform supports remediation actions including classification, permission management, data movement, and deletion.
Concentric AI also offers Semantic DLP, described as extending these functions to provide visibility into "shadow AI". It uses contextual discovery and labelling to block or redact sensitive data in AI prompts, and tracks prompts, responses, and policy violations.
Sektor's channel ecosystem will now be able to sell and support these tools as part of broader security programmes. The offering is positioned for organisations seeking structured controls over sensitive data at rest and in transit, alongside oversight of AI tool usage.
Sektor also highlighted integration with existing security and compliance tools. "Data security is a growing priority for organisations across Australia and New Zealand as data becomes more distributed, regulatory scrutiny intensifies, and AI adoption accelerates," said Matt Geluk-Rowe, Head of Partnerships at Sektor.
"After carefully evaluating emerging solutions, Concentric AI stood out for its ability to maximise existing technology investments, such as Microsoft Purview, while enabling safe AI use. Its data-centric approach strongly aligns with our mission to deliver differentiated, high-value security technologies, and we're excited to partner with Concentric AI to support customers and partners across the region," Geluk-Rowe said.
Regional expansion
For Concentric AI, the deal provides a local route to market in two countries where many security vendors pursue growth through channel partners. It expects the agreement to provide a base for scaling partner activity across the region.
Concentric AI has appointed Chris Farrelly as Regional Vice President, APAC. He linked the agreement to broader demand for data security governance and controls around AI use.
"Expanding our presence in Australia and New Zealand is an important step for Concentric AI as global demand for data security and AI protection continues to grow. Partnering with Sektor gives us a strong distribution foundation in the region and enables our partners to quickly build and scale Concentric AI into their data security offerings," said Farrelly.
Sektor will work with channel partners across Australia and New Zealand on sales and delivery of the Concentric AI platform, with a focus on data discovery, monitoring, and policy controls for sensitive information and AI prompts.
