Anker SOLIX cracks top three in SolarQuotes battery list
Anker SOLIX has climbed into the top three home battery brands on SolarQuotes' rankings, based on verified homeowner reviews, after less than a year on the table.
The move comes as Australia's home battery market grows more crowded. State and federal incentives have attracted more suppliers and installers. Brands compete on payback claims and rebate messaging, while households compare warranties, backup performance, and installer support.
SolarQuotes compiles its rankings from verified reviews left by homeowners after installation. The list acts as a barometer of customer sentiment in a market where many products share similar headline specifications. Placement is also shaped by after-sales support, installer coordination, and day-to-day performance.
Community sites
Anker SOLIX has also partnered with installer RESINC Solar & Batteries on deployments in community settings, including a non-kill animal shelter in Lismore. The companies say the projects are intended to demonstrate reliability where outages have direct consequences.
The Lismore site is volunteer-run and funded through donations. The statement says past power interruptions have affected food storage and cooling. Heat and humidity can worsen conditions during outages when air conditioning stops and safe indoor environments are harder to maintain.
The partners installed an Anker SOLIX X1 battery system at the facility at no cost. They say the shelter now runs on nearly 99% solar energy.
"When the grid drops out now, nobody even notices," the team said. "The food stays frozen, the air con keeps running, and the animals stay comfortable."
The installation reflects a broader shift in the home battery market. Consumers are placing more weight on backup behaviour, resilience, and service response, alongside energy savings. Extreme weather and network interruptions are pushing more households to consider batteries for continuity, not just bill reduction.
Product details
The X1 is designed for home energy storage. Anker SOLIX lists environmental and protection ratings aimed at outdoor installation, including dust and water resistance, plus anti-corrosion performance for coastal or industrial environments.
Anker SOLIX says the unit is rated to IP66, operates between -20°C and 55°C, and carries a C5-M anti-corrosion rating.
In backup mode, Anker SOLIX says the X1 switches over in 10 milliseconds when grid power fails. Fast transfer times can reduce the risk of interruptions for connected loads, depending on system design and which circuits are backed up.
Anker SOLIX also highlights a 10-year warranty for the X1. Terms and coverage can vary by market and installer agreements, and owners often compare what is covered for parts, labour, transport, and performance over time.
Installer model
Installer quality remains a key factor in home battery satisfaction. The work can involve switchboard changes, network approvals, safety checks, monitoring setup, and export or backup configuration. Mistakes can lead to delays, limited functionality, or poor performance.
Anker SOLIX says it works with a restricted set of installers in Australia, including RESINC. "We partner strictly with premium installers," said Symons, General Manager of Anker SOLIX APAC. "The quality of the install has to match the quality of the product."
The company also points to its support model as a differentiator, with technical help handled by staff familiar with the system rather than routed through a general call centre. Service pathways and escalation processes can influence reviews, particularly when a battery is expected to provide backup during outages.
Market position
Anker SOLIX is part of Anker Innovations, known for consumer electronics accessories and the eufy smart home brand. Anker Innovations began operations in 2011, according to the statement. For some buyers, the parent company's scale and track record factor into perceptions of long-term support and the availability of parts and service.
Anker SOLIX says the SolarQuotes ranking reflects real household experience rather than advertising, and describes its community deployments as a way to show system performance in higher-stakes settings.
"This is what a new energy icon looks like," Symons said. "By combining global engineering scale with local technical expertise, we ensure Australians can Live Fully Powered with confidence. We are a brand defined by the long-term support we provide for everything we build."
More installers are expected to expand their battery offerings as rebate settings evolve and households seek greater energy independence. Review-led rankings are likely to remain influential in brand choice in a market with limited tolerance for poor backup performance.
