Activ8me offers two months free internet for regions

Activ8me has launched a two-month free internet offer for new residential customers in regional and remote Australia. It applies to plans priced below AUD $85 a month.

Customers who sign up to eligible plans will receive a bill credit equal to one month's plan fee on their third and sixth invoices, effectively spreading the discount across the first six months of service.

The promotion covers Activ8me's full consumer network range, including Sky Muster satellite, nbn Fixed Wireless, nbn Fibre and Opticomm Fibre. It is limited to 5,000 new connections.

In regional and remote areas, internet choice can be narrower than in metropolitan markets, particularly where satellite or fixed wireless are the only practical options. That can leave households with fewer opportunities to switch providers when prices rise.

The offer targets new residential users rather than existing customers. Based on the credit structure, the saving can reach about AUD $170 for households on the highest-priced eligible plans.

Activ8me has also removed six-month introductory pricing on plans under AUD $85 a month. That means customers taking up the offer will not move from a discounted entry price to a higher standard rate at the end of the six-month period.

It also offers free standard installation, no setup fees and no lock-in contract. Those terms are often used by broadband providers to reduce the upfront cost of switching, especially in areas where installation can be more difficult than in cities.

Regional focus

Activ8me describes itself as a specialist nbn provider serving regional and remote Australia. Its portfolio spans satellite and fixed wireless services, as well as fibre connections where that infrastructure is available.

The business is Australian owned and operates an Australian-based support team from Preston in Victoria. That regional focus has become a point of competition among providers seeking to stand out in a market where service reliability and customer support are closely watched.

It has recently received industry recognition in several categories. Activ8me was named WhistleOut's Best Satellite nbn Provider in 2025 and 2026, won a 2025 Canstar Innovation Award for Customer Support, and received WeMoney's Fixed Wireless Provider of the Year 2026 award.

Competitive pressure

Price-led offers remain a common tool in the broadband market, but they often rely on introductory discounts that expire after a set period. Activ8me's approach instead uses delayed bill credits on the third and sixth invoices while removing the lower introductory pricing tier on eligible plans.

That structure may appeal to households looking for more predictable costs over the first half-year of service. In regional markets, where the pool of alternative providers can be smaller, billing clarity can matter as much as the headline monthly rate.

Plans in Activ8me's range start from AUD $39.95 a month on Sky Muster. The latest offer applies across products priced below AUD $85 a month, so not every plan in its catalogue will qualify.

Activ8me said the initiative is intended to ease pressure on household budgets in areas where broadband options can be limited. "For many regional and remote households, there's often only a handful of realistic internet providers and not much room to shop around when a bill goes up," the company said.
