Access Group acquires ATO SmartDocs to boost automation suite
The Access Group has announced the acquisition of ATO SmartDocs, a cloud-based provider of automated Australian Tax Office document processing solutions.
With this acquisition, the Access Group aims to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pacific accounting software sector and expand its accounting solutions portfolio to better support regulatory compliance for accounting firms in Australia.
Market context
Accounting software for Australian firms is described as a fragmented and complex market, with many firms experiencing challenges related to compliance demands and workforce shortages. Administrative and compliance workloads have contributed to issues around staff recruitment, retention, and burnout.
