Zwift unveils new bike, Watopia & training updates

Zwift has unveiled a new season of updates for its online fitness platform, including a second version of the Zwift Ride smart bike and an expansion of the Watopia virtual world.

The package also includes a wearable integration with WHOOP, redesigned home screens in both the main game and companion app, a new Watt Lock feature for ERG mode control, and updates to in-game racing and equipment.

Bike update

Zwift Ride V2 is scheduled to reach Australia at the end of 2026 at AUD $2,299.95. The revised bike keeps the same price while adding a more compact frame and a wider fit range for riders from 4ft 10in to 6ft 6in.

It will ship with adjustable cranks offering five crank lengths from 160 mm to 175 mm. Zwift has also changed the seatpost design to allow more fore-and-aft adjustment. Existing owners will be able to buy the adjustable cranks and updated seatpost separately.

Training data

A new integration with WHOOP is now available in Zwift, allowing the platform to use a rider's WHOOP Recovery Score when generating Personal Recommendations.

On lower-recovery days, the platform will automatically reduce the recommended training load. A later update will also make Zwift rides and runs visible in the WHOOP app for connected users.

Interface changes

The companion app will receive a redesigned home screen in October. Zwift says the revised layout is intended to make upcoming sessions and recent progress easier to see, while the weekly activity graph will be split across two screens.

A separate refresh of the main Zwift game home screen will begin rolling out from September 22. Scheduled content will be given greater prominence, while day tags on planned activities and a new progress widget will show the week ahead and track weekly goals and career progression.

Watopia roads

Watopia, the platform's flagship virtual destination, is set to gain about 18 km of new roads inspired by the California coast and Catalina Island. The extension will connect Jarvis to the Jungle and include a flat bypass around the Epic KOM.

Two new criterium-style circuits are also being added for racing. The new archipelago area is due to open in time for a later stage of the Tour of Watopia.

Power control

Another addition is Watt Lock, due in October. The ERG mode toggle, available during free rides, will let riders hold a chosen target power with one click.

Users with Zwift Ride, Zwift Click or Zwift Play controllers will also be able to adjust target power directly through the controllers while riding.

Racing and rewards

Zwift is also expanding its racing programme with a new banner called Zwift Racing, covering time trial, criterium and longer-format events. The first series will run with DURA-ACE branding.

The Zwift Racing League will return with introductory rides aimed at helping newer racers understand formats and find teams. Season One will also introduce a draft-free points race format called Race of Truth.

In the in-game Drop Shop, Zwift is planning a Kona-themed equipment release featuring triathlon bikes and wheels, followed by the arrival of Factor bikes and Black Inc wheels. The Zwift x Pinarello paint scheme will also become available for purchase with in-game currency.

Later in 2026, the platform will add two more Halo Bikes, expanding the top-tier virtual bike range beyond the existing models from Specialised, Cannondale and Pinarello. The new additions will come from Cervélo and Canyon, and players will need to fully upgrade three bikes from each brand before they can buy them.

Zwift described the season's updates as an effort to make the platform easier to use and more tailored to individual riders across its global community.
