Wokingham's Nebula Global Services launches sustainable tech blueprint
Tue, 16th Jan 2024

Wokingham-based technology services firm Nebula Global Services has recently released a blueprint designed to drive transformation in the global technology services landscape by incorporating sustainable practices. This blueprint is central to Nebula's rebranding strategy for the first quarter.

Nebula believes that the current rules of engagement are evolving in the technology services sector. The company suggests it is no longer viable for service providers to lead only with their capabilities. The firm stresses that technology firms must clearly delineate their sustainability goals and be accountable to their committed pledges. Nebula suggests this can create a sustainable technology value chain that is readily accessible to channel partners.

The company's 'Journey to NebZero' initiative, a roadmap to net zero emissions, is key to the blueprint. The initiative relies heavily on the firm's commitment to build a more sustainable global channel community. This is intended to be achieved through strict adherence to sourcing locally, responsibly, and ethically across their supply chain. The initiative also features an emphasis on decarbonisation and community-driven initiatives.

Nebula's six-stage sustainability approach aims to not only reduce carbon emissions but also support local economies, demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adaptability, expand sustainable partnerships, and incorporate technology and innovation to enhance efficiency.

Nebula also found it crucial to construct a framework conforming to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Data gleaned from their materiality assessment, shared among partners, customers, team members, and the leadership team, has enabled Nebula to identify the relevant SDGs to focus on primarily. This data has helped the company align with core business objectives, set targets, and draft action plans to drive progress towards a more positive impact.

Ross Teague, CEO of Nebula, expresses the company's initial goal of creating a global IT channel services business with a positive impact on its value chain since its establishment in 2020. Nebula's strategy involves globally sourcing products with a focus on local, responsible, and ethical practices. This approach is contributing to the development of a sustainable business that is gaining significance among channel partners, driven by Nebula's commitment to customer success.

Ross Teague says: "When Nebula was formed back in 2020 the ambition was always to provide a global IT channel services business that delivered a positive impact to the value chain it served. Our strategy to source-local, source-responsible, and source-ethical on a global scale means we are already starting to build a sustainable business that is becoming increasingly intrinsic to our channel partners due to our customer success obsessed philosophy."

Underpinning Nebula's sustainability blueprint is a comprehensive rebranding programme that includes a new strapline, 'People & Tech Unified'. It features a new website, value proposition, and Carbon Reduction Plan, underpinning the firm's ESG strategy.

Teague continues, "The exciting thing for us is that this is just the beginning of the journey. We have purposely taken our time in making sure our efforts are focused in areas that make a significant difference to our channel partners, and collectively, we can achieve some amazing things over the coming years."
