Distributor Wavelink is bringing critical communications vendor Spok to the local market in a deal which will see the two companies – and their resellers – targeting healthcare locally.
Spok provides critical communications solutions for healthcare – which it is best known for – along with hospitality and enterprise.
Wavelink will handle Spok’s alerting software, hardware, maintenance and services across Australia and New Zealand.
The deal includes distribution to Spok’s existing resellers as well as the specialist enterprise mobility and unified communications solution distributor’s 300 resellers.
Ilan Rubin, Wavelink managing director, says Spok’s Care Connect enterprise healthcare communications platform complements the work Wavelink is doing with its health practice.
“Our focus is to identify and deliver the clinical applications healthcare professionals need to improve patient care and provider responsiveness,” Ruin says.
“This partnerhsip is another step forward for Wavelink in developing a range of messagng and application solutions offerings for partners and customers.”
The Spok Care Connect suite of solutions spans voice, messaging, alarms and alerts across ‘many’ different devices, with director, scheduling and preference data enabling the right people can be reached around the clock.
Spok says it integrates with existing hospital workflows to enable facilities to deliver information quickly and securely to clinicians.
The company says hospitals are facing increasing communications challenges, impacted by everything from regulatory compliance to reduced reimbursements and an increasingly mobile staff in a fast-paced care environment.
“Doctors and nurses are under increasing pressure to become more efficient while improving patient care and satisfaction,” says Hemant Goel, Spok president.
