Veracity has appointed Daniel Bayfield as Chief Executive Officer following the Brisbane technology and consulting firm's acquisition by Evergreen and transition into Lyra Technology Group.

Bayfield joins from blueAPACHE, where he served on the executive team and worked across the mid-market IT services sector. He brings experience in managed services, business growth, client strategy and partner relationships.

The appointment comes as Veracity reshapes its senior leadership team. Founder Bill Owens will remain in a full-time role as Founder, while Chris Greathead will become Chief Operating Officer.

Greathead currently serves as General Manager, Consultancy Services and has spent more than a decade across client delivery, major technology projects, service desk leadership and consulting.

Bayfield takes over as the business reports continued client growth, particularly in community, not-for-profit and other purpose-led sectors. Veracity also works with government and local businesses, including clients in arts tourism, charities and member-based organisations.

Veracity will continue to trade under its existing brand after joining Lyra Technology Group. The Brisbane-based company operates as a managed services, technology and consulting business.

In comments released with the appointment, Bayfield pointed to Veracity's position in Queensland and its work with not-for-profit organisations.

"Veracity has built something genuinely special in the Queensland MSP market, a business-led IT partner known for deep client relationships, strong technical expertise, and leadership in shaping IT and AI transformation strategies," said Daniel Bayfield, Chief Executive Officer of Veracity.

He also outlined what attracted him to the business.

"I was particularly drawn to Veracity's strength across the not-for-profit sector, and the way the team brings practical technology leadership to organisations doing for-purpose work. There is a real opportunity to build on that foundation and continue supporting clients through the next wave of digital change," Bayfield said.

Leadership changes

Owens founded the business and most recently served as Managing Director. Under the new structure, he will focus on value creation and strategic client relationships rather than day-to-day executive leadership.

Bayfield also commented on the broader leadership transition and Greathead's promotion.

"I'm grateful that Bill will continue to play an active role in Veracity's next chapter, and I'm looking forward to working closely with Chris as he steps into the COO role. Chris brings deep trust across the team and client base, and his experience across service delivery, consulting, and operations will be invaluable as we continue to grow," Bayfield said.

Owens said he would continue to support the incoming chief executive and the broader management team as the company enters its next stage.

"I'm incredibly proud of the business we have built and the team that has made it what it is today. Daniel brings strong sector experience, commercial leadership and a genuine appreciation for Veracity's culture and client base. I'm excited to support him, Chris, and the broader team as they lead Veracity into this next phase. It's the most exciting time of Veracity's evolution," said Bill Owens, Founder of Veracity.

Market focus

Veracity has built much of its recent work around organisations seeking external technology support and advice, with a particular emphasis on not-for-profit and community-based clients. That focus has helped distinguish the company in a crowded Australian mid-market IT services sector, where providers compete for clients seeking managed services, consulting and broader digital projects.

Bayfield's background at blueAPACHE gives Veracity a chief executive with direct experience in that part of the market. His appointment also signals continuity rather than a wholesale rebrand or restructuring, with the company retaining its established name and keeping Owens involved in client-facing work.

The new leadership line-up leaves Veracity with Bayfield as Chief Executive Officer, Greathead as Chief Operating Officer and Owens in an ongoing founder role focused on strategic relationships. The changes come during a period of continued client growth across community, not-for-profit and purpose-led sectors.
