UiPath has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Document Mining and Analytics Platforms, Q2 2026, placing the automation software company among the top vendors in document mining and analytics.

The assessment focused on UiPath Intelligent Xtraction and Processing, or IXP, which combines document processing with AI, orchestration and governance tools for document-heavy business workflows.

Forrester said UiPath scored strongly in areas tied to agentic AI, including operations and architecture, functionality and integration. It also highlighted the company's approach to AI model orchestration, citing hybrid pipelines that route work according to confidence thresholds and include human review.

The report also pointed to governed agent execution, user-reviewable plans, and tracing and auditability based on OpenTelemetry and OpenTelemetry Protocol standards. It further noted document splitting and validation feedback loops as part of the product design.

Published excerpts said customer feedback focused on business value, scalability, document privacy or sovereignty, and customer service.

Product focus

UiPath said its IXP software is designed to extract, interpret and process information from a wide range of document types. The product is positioned as part of a broader platform that links document handling with workflow management across large organisations.

Document processing has become a key area for automation suppliers as companies try to reduce manual work in functions that still rely heavily on forms, invoices, contracts and compliance records. The market has also drawn attention as software groups add AI tools intended to handle less structured information and route work between software agents and human staff.

UiPath said the product is aimed at automating complex document-centric workflows at scale and reducing the manual effort involved in extracting and interpreting information from documents.

Acquisition link

The Forrester assessment also referred to UiPath's acquisition of WorkFusion, saying the deal extends its strategy with specialised AI agents for anti-money laundering, know your customer and fraud investigation work. That gives UiPath more vertical offerings in banking and financial services.

The link to financial crime and compliance work reflects a broader push by automation providers to move beyond general-purpose tools into more specialised sectors, where document-intensive processes are common and regulatory scrutiny is high.

UiPath has been expanding its message around business orchestration, combining automation software, AI tools and governance controls in a single operating model. It has argued that documents remain central to many enterprise processes and can serve as a starting point for wider workflow automation.

Badri Narayanan, Senior Vice President, Software Engineering, UiPath, commented on the ranking and the company's approach to document automation.

"Documents are the connective tissue of every enterprise process, but reach their greatest value when accompanied by context, governance, and orchestration at scale," said Badri Narayanan, Senior Vice President, Software Engineering, UiPath. "To us, this recognition reflects not only the strength of our IXP, but our overall approach to pairing intelligent document processing and business orchestration. It's a true unlock for end-to-end enterprise transformation, combining AI agents, orchestration, human-in-the-loop validation, and enterprise-grade governance. The document, regardless of format or source, is no longer a bottleneck - it's the catalyst for orchestrated business transformation."

The Forrester report said: "UiPath earns high marks for agentic AI operations and architecture, agentic AI functionality, and agentic AI integration, delivering governed agent execution with user-reviewable plans and OpenTelemetry/OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTEL/OTLP)-compliant tracing and auditability. The vendor also scores above par for AI model orchestration, supported by hybrid pipelines that route work based on confidence/thresholds with human-in-the-loop, and robust composite-document splitting and validation feedback loops."

It added: "UiPath customers point to strong business value and a reliable, scalable platform. They also highlight document privacy/sovereignty and the quality of customer service as strengths for this vendor... UiPath is a good fit for organizations that want to standardize on a single agentic automation platform that combines intelligent document processing (IDP) with workflow orchestration, governance, and broad enterprise integrations."
