TCS launches AI WisdomNext to streamline GenAI adoption

Tue, 11th Jun 2024

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has introduced a groundbreaking platform, TCS AI WisdomNext, aggregating multiple Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) services into a single interface. This innovative tool aims to assist organisations in adopting next-generation technologies at scale while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with regulatory frameworks.

The AI WisdomNext platform is designed to streamline the development and deployment of GenAI models. It provides real-time experimentation opportunities across vendor, internal, and open-source large language models (LLM) within a unified interface. This development marks a significant step forward for businesses seeking to leverage the full potential of AI technology.

One of the key challenges faced by solution designers globally is selecting and experimenting with the right foundational models, which are constantly evolving and offer varied capabilities in terms of usage, cost, and effectiveness. According to the comprehensive TCS AI for Business Study, while business executives acknowledge the positive impact of AI, there remains uncertainty regarding the transformation path.

TCS AI WisdomNext aims to address this issue by helping businesses choose the appropriate models and simplifying the design of new solutions using GenAI tools. The platform also enables the reuse of pre-existing components to expedite the design process. Key features of the platform include intelligent evaluator bots for model comparison, scenarios to optimise GenAI running costs, centralised governance with built-in guardrails for compliance, and seamless portability across cloud platforms and GenAI ecosystems.

Siva Ganesan, Head of the AI.Cloud Unit at TCS, commented, "TCS AI WisdomNext helps our customers take advantage of GenAI to unlock the full potential of their data, drive greater business innovation and efficiency, and gain a competitive edge. Customers appreciate the newly launched platform's ability to help navigate a diverse and quickly evolving AI marketplace and rapidly compose 'art-of-the-possible' solutions. We are solving business problems and helping our customers redefine what it means to harness the power of GenAI."

During its initial testing phase, TCS has utilised this powerful tool with several of its largest clients. For instance, it has facilitated quick sales for an outdoor advertising company in the US by integrating real-time inventory availability and quote generation with maps. It has also enhanced productivity and efficiency across the application migration and modernisation lifecycle for an American insurance provider and improved customer experience through a smart mortgage assistant for a bank in the UK.

Scott Kessler, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Northeast Shared Services, stated, "GenAI presents us with the chance to elevate the value of our knowledge capital across multiple dimensions. Through access to the TCS AI WisdomNext platform, we can amplify our enterprise knowledge, orchestrating a seamless integration of data and insights to enhance the efficiency, innovation, and customer-centric focus of our grocery organisation, thereby incrementing value at every turn."

R Ray Wang, CEO and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, emphasised the platform's value, indicating that customers seek innovative GenAI solutions with prefabricated industry blueprints, advanced technologies, and orchestration capabilities. "Service providers that make thoughtful investments in GenAI and help clients transform will be the technology partners that customers trust to deliver on the promises of GenAI," he noted.

TCS offers a comprehensive portfolio of GenAI services and solutions encompassing consulting and advisory, solution design and prototyping, LLM training and fine-tuning, project delivery, ongoing maintenance, and a responsible AI framework for ethical and safe AI usage. The company has over 300,000 employees trained in AI/ML foundational skills, including GenAI.
