Synology hosts backup and DR events for partners in ANZ
Thu, 2nd Jun 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Last month Synology, the network attached storage (NAS) solutions specialist, hosted a series of events targeted toward partners in Australia and New Zealand. The events took place in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland and were geared toward helping partners and customers set up backup and disaster recovery plans with Synology NAS, to 'make sure your business is always on'.

A series of presenters from the Synology head office highlighted how Synology NAS solutions provide all-around protection for critical data and gave attendees the chance to learn about new features as well as up and coming products.

With the latest DiskStation Manager (DSM) 6.0 operating system, Synology has introduced many enterprise-level data protection technologies to serve the diverse requirements a company may have, such as backing up employees' computers, protecting its Synology NAS with offsite copies in various locations, or using snapshot-based backup to achieve quick recovery with minimal impact on system performance.

Over the course of the morning, Synology held a range of live demonstrations and shared insights into how to implement:

  • Centralised and enterprise-wide backup for computers, servers and virtual machines
  • Business continuity solutions to maximise uptime
  • DR strategies through Snapshot Replication, NAS-to-NAS backup, or backing up to public clouds
