Superloop appoints Jason Ashton to leadership role

Today

Superloop has announced the appointment of Jason Ashton to the role of Group Executive, Corporate Development & Smart Communities, effective from 3 March 2025.

Paul Tyler, Superloop's CEO and Managing Director, remarked on the appointment by stating, "I am thrilled to welcome Jason to our leadership team. He has decades of experience in the telecommunications industry and has an extensive understanding of the unique mix of fixed and wireless technologies. Having Jason on board will help drive our M&A agenda as well as our rapidly growing Smart Communities portfolio."

Ashton is no stranger to Superloop, having previously held an executive role when Superloop acquired BigAir in 2014, a company he co-founded and led, specialising in wireless and IT services.

The announcement comes shortly after Superloop completed the acquisition of Optus' Uecomm, adding over 2,000 kilometres of high-capacity fibre assets across major Australian cities. Part of Ashton's responsibilities will include driving the integration of this acquisition in line with the company's strategic expansion plans.

Tyler added, "Superloop is a challenger brand, committed to disrupting the market and gaining share from incumbents. We constantly push ourselves to improve and innovate. Jason embodies this spirit, bringing a fresh perspective and aligning with our company values. He is a fantastic addition to the team. Our mission is to keep refreshing the internet experience for Australians, and we're excited to work with people who share our passion for making that happen."
