StackAdapt expands APAC presence with senior hires in HK & Japan

Today

StackAdapt has expanded its presence in Asia-Pacific by appointing two senior executives to lead its operations in Hong Kong and Japan.

The advertising technology platform has announced that Jeffrey Kwan will assume the role of Head of Business for Hong Kong, while Takeshi Yamaguchi will take on the position of Head of Business for Japan.

Kwan brings significant experience in launching international and regional adtech companies into new markets, having been instrumental in introducing Teads to Hong Kong and Taiwan. He also has a background with notable agencies and publishers, including the Financial Times and Reuters. "StackAdapt stands out in the market with its cutting-edge technology, including advanced AI and machine learning tools, a powerful suite of creative ad builder solutions, and a comprehensive multi-channel marketing solution," Kwan remarked. "In my view, the StackAdapt platform is a formidable alternative to other DSPs, offering the speed and service needed to manage complex digital advertising campaigns at scale with ease, ultimately delivering a strong return on a brand's media investments."

Yamaguchi's experience spans roles such as Commercial Director at Ogury and Japanese Country Manager for Monks. He also served as Country Manager for Integral Ad Science in Japan and South Korea. Commenting on his new role, Yamaguchi said, "The Japanese market is large in terms of digital advertising spend, but advertisers and agencies are still hesitant to make a commitment to programmatic. As the rest of the world has already made a shift, this gap could become a serious issue for Japan's market in the near future. With a unique approach and technology, we believe that StackAdapt can help grow the programmatic advertising market in Japan."

Liam McCarten, who oversees StackAdapt's operations in Asia-Pacific, stated, "Welcoming Jeffrey and Takeshi to StackAdapt demonstrates how serious our ambition is to continue growing our presence across North Asia. Their track record of scaling businesses and building deep partnerships with agencies and brands will only further the momentum we're seeing across the APAC region. Through our tech, our team, and our focus on creating real value for marketers, we're incredibly bullish in the demand to support agencies and brands in delivering their critical business outcomes."

Earlier this year, StackAdapt also brought in former Meta executive Liam McCarten to lead the Asia-Pacific region and former Google executive Deirdre Chew as the Director of Sales for Southeast Asia. The company has made these appointments amidst plans for broader expansion within the APAC region. StackAdapt currently employs over 65 staff across markets in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Hong Kong.

StackAdapt is known for empowering media buyers to plan, execute, and optimise cross-channel campaigns across major channels such as connected TV (CTV) and digital out-of-home (DOOH), with precise measurement and attribution. The company aims to continue its growth trajectory by leveraging its technology and expertise in the adtech industry.
