Sphera has been named a Leader in Verdantix's 2026 Green Quadrant for Risk Intelligence Software, placing it among the top vendors assessed by the analyst firm.

Verdantix evaluated how suppliers combine external data feeds, expert input and software tools to identify patterns, correlations and anomalies that could signal emerging threats. In its assessment, the firm said Sphera offers one of "the most comprehensive risk intelligence software capabilities" in the market.

Verdantix also said Sphera "provides reliable risk intelligence across multiple domains, via robust AI integration models with advanced data collection protocols." Sphera scored 2.8 out of 3.0 for AI integration, and Verdantix highlighted the breadth of its risk intelligence coverage.

The recognition comes as companies face growing pressure to link risk management with supply chain oversight, sustainability targets and day-to-day operations. Verdantix said operational risks are becoming more interconnected, making risk intelligence an enterprise-wide issue rather than a narrow function.

Its 2026 Global Corporate Risk Survey found that more than 60% of respondents plan to increase risk intelligence budgets over the next 12 months. At the same time, nearly half said they still rely on manual internet searches or have no risk intelligence mechanism in place.

Broader focus

The report is Verdantix's first Green Quadrant focused on risk intelligence software. It reflects a broader market shift away from siloed tools and towards systems that connect external warning signals with internal operations, suppliers, products and sites.

Sphera has been expanding the use of artificial intelligence across its platform. Its newer tools are designed to help businesses turn sustainability data into insights that support operational and investment decisions.

The latest ranking follows another recent Verdantix assessment in which Sphera was also named a Leader in the Green Quadrant for Supply Chain Sustainability Software. Together, the two placements point to the growing overlap between supply chain visibility, sustainability reporting and risk monitoring.

Paul Marushka, Chief Executive Officer and President of Sphera, linked the result to those converging demands on large organisations.

"Today's enterprises face a new reality where sustainability performance, supply chain resilience and risk intelligence are intrinsically linked. Organisations need the ability to understand not only what is happening across their value chain, but also what it means for business continuity, compliance, supplier relationships and long-term performance. We believe our leadership positions in both the Risk Intelligence Software and Supply Chain Sustainability Software Green Quadrants reflect Sphera's ability to help organizations connect these domains and make more informed, proactive decisions," Marushka said.

Market demand

Verdantix's findings suggest buyers want software that does more than gather alerts from external sources. The firm said the practical value of risk intelligence now depends on whether businesses can connect those signals to real operational decisions.

Luis Carlos Niño, Senior Manager at Verdantix, described that shift in how companies use software across teams and functions.

"As enterprise risks become increasingly interconnected, software needs to support decisions across functions rather than create another isolated risk feed. For enterprise buyers, the value will not come from collecting more signals, but from connecting trusted external intelligence to the suppliers, products, sites and operational decisions that matter most," Niño said.

Sphera says it serves 8,500 customers and more than one million users across 100 countries. Verdantix said more than 3,000 subscribing organisations use its research and market intelligence to guide technology and market decisions.
