SolarWinds expands partner programme with Fast Track

Thu, 4th Jun 2026 (Today)

SolarWinds has expanded its Reseller Partner Programme, adding a new Fast Track Programme for high-growth partners.

The revised scheme includes updated tier-based benefits, a simplified incentive structure, new training options, changes to the partner portal, and a published discount framework based on partner tier. The measures are intended to give resellers a clearer view of how they are rewarded for investment and growth.

Partners will have a year-long transition period to meet the new tier requirements. SolarWinds also plans additional enablement resources and dedicated office hours to support the shift.

One of the main changes is how discounts are set. SolarWinds is replacing recommended reseller discounts with published discounts tied to partner tiers, a move intended to make programme execution more predictable for sales and channel teams.

Benefits under the programme will also be tied to explicit criteria. Partners will gain access to improved tier-based benefits and an updated incentive model, including a new long-term rewards centre.

Training changes

Training and support are another part of the overhaul. SolarWinds is expanding its online certifications, adding monthly webinars and newsletters, and introducing new specialisations for partners working in specific areas.

The company has also revised the Partner Portal following reseller feedback. New resources and functions include changes to the not-for-resale process and a Salesforce integration intended to make opportunity sharing easier.

Barb Huelskamp, Vice President of Global Channel Sales and Alliances, outlined the company's position on the update.

"This latest iteration of our Partner Programme is further proof of our commitment to improve business outcomes for customers," said Barb Huelskamp, Vice President of Global Channel Sales and Alliances, SolarWinds.

"We continue to listen to partners and make specific changes that are aligned with their concerns. We understand that the more we empower our partners, the better equipped they are to solve the evolving and complex issues customers must navigate."

Channel focus

The changes reflect the importance of reseller channels for software suppliers seeking wider market reach and more consistent delivery through third-party sales and service providers. For partners, clarity on discounts, incentives, and accreditation can affect margins, planning, and access to vendor support.

The Fast Track Programme will help high-growth partners move more quickly through the structure by granting temporary elevated positioning while they work towards the formal requirements. The mechanism is designed to support newer or expanding resellers that may not yet meet every threshold for a higher tier.

Climb Global Solutions, one of SolarWinds' partners, welcomed the changes and linked them to customer demand for simpler IT operations.

"As our customers face unprecedented IT challenges, they need solutions that power business goals while simplifying IT operations," said Dale Foster, Chief Executive Officer, Climb Global Solutions.

"SolarWinds provides comprehensive solutions that meet these challenges head-on. More importantly, its partner programme empowers us to approach our customers confidently with the answers they need in today's digital landscape."

The programme changes are due to take effect in August. The extended transition period will give existing partners more time to adjust to the revised standards while maintaining access to the ecosystem and support resources.
