Ricoh Australia appoints Matthew Taylor as Sales Manager
Mon, 10th Aug 2026 (Today)
Ricoh Australia has appointed Matthew Taylor as National Sales Manager for Ricoh Graphic Communications, based in Sydney.
He will focus on expanding adoption of Ricoh's digital production printing products among Australian commercial and industrial printers and in-plant facilities, working across production print, workflow software and related services.
Taylor returns to Ricoh Australia after previously spending more than three years with the business as a Key Account Director. In that role, he managed major strategic accounts and supported the development of Ricoh's high-speed inkjet business in Australia.
Before rejoining Ricoh, Taylor was Chief Growth Officer at Chandler CX, where he oversaw national growth strategy and revenue performance. His remit included new business acquisition, customer retention, technical presales, and the development of commercial and analytics functions.
He has worked in the Australian graphic communications, production print and customer communications sectors for more than 20 years. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at Fuji Xerox in regional sales leadership and strategic account management roles within its Graphic Communications division.
Taylor also founded and led The Digital Centre, shifting the company from a traditional print manufacturer to a digital marketing and technology services agency. That mix of print, sales and transformation experience reflects broader changes in the sector, as printers look for new revenue streams and more automated production processes.
Leadership move
The appointment adds to Ricoh Australia's Graphic Communications management team, which serves commercial printers, in-house print operations and industrial production environments. Its offering includes cut-sheet and continuous-feed production printing, high-speed inkjet systems, workflow and automation software, industrial printing and technical support.
This portfolio positions Ricoh in a segment where suppliers are competing for demand from print businesses seeking to improve efficiency and broaden the services they offer customers. In-plant facilities and commercial printers are increasingly turning to digital production systems in response to shorter print runs, faster turnaround times and changing customer requirements.
Announcing the appointment, Tina Economou highlighted Taylor's previous record with the company and his connections across the print market.
"Matthew brings a valuable combination of deep industry knowledge, trusted customer relationships and proven commercial leadership," said Tina Economou, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Ricoh Australia.
"Having previously worked with Matthew at Ricoh, we know the value of his customer-first approach and his ability to identify and develop new growth opportunities. His appointment strengthens our national Graphic Communications leadership as we deepen our partnerships with Australian print businesses and help them improve productivity, expand their capabilities and pursue sustainable growth," Economou said.
Sector background
Ricoh is best known for workplace technology and printing, but it also has a sizeable presence in commercial and industrial print. Globally, the group operates in about 200 countries and regions and reported sales of approximately USD $16.4 billion in the financial year ended March 2026.
In Australia, the Graphic Communications unit serves customers ranging from commercial print shops to larger industrial production sites. Its focus on digital production print reflects wider industry efforts to adapt to demand for more flexible output, data-driven jobs and closer integration between print equipment and software.
Taylor said the role comes at a significant point for print businesses as they reassess how they serve customers and where they invest.
"I am excited to be returning to Ricoh and joining the Graphic Communications team at an important time for the industry," said Matthew Taylor, National Sales Manager, Ricoh Graphic Communications.
"Print businesses are continually looking for ways to improve productivity, introduce new capabilities and deliver greater value to their customers. Ricoh has a strong portfolio, an experienced team and a genuine commitment to working alongside customers over the long term. I look forward to reconnecting with the industry and helping our customers pursue their next stage of growth," Taylor said.
