Rackspace partners with AWS for global cloud transformation

Rackspace Technology has entered a multi-year strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide enhanced digital transformation for customers globally.

The collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both organisations by offering comprehensive cloud services, including advisory, finance operations (FinOps), migration, modernisation, cloud data, machine learning (ML), and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) solutions. The goal is to assist customers throughout their cloud adoption journey, from initial strategy to ongoing operations.

Among the solutions highlighted in the partnership are the AWS-validated GenAI Industry Accelerator, designed to facilitate AI adoption by addressing industry-specific challenges, and the Rackspace Rapid Migration Office (RRMO), which aims to expedite data centre migrations to AWS with extensive support. Another key offering is Foundry for AI by Rackspace (FAIR), which enables the responsible building, deployment, and scaling of GenAI applications on AWS.

The collaboration includes a significant investment aimed at accelerating customer migration and modernisation initiatives for applications, data, and cloud infrastructure. This effort will be supported by the expansion of the Rackspace Technology Migration and Modernization Center of Excellence, building on existing expertise with the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP).

The RRMO, also featured on AWS Marketplace, offers comprehensive services that include migration planning, landing zone setup, execution of migrations, and 24x7 cloud operations support. Convera, a global leader in commercial payments, has partnered with Rackspace Technology to streamline its customer support operations by utilising Amazon Bedrock, reducing processing times significantly. Dharmesh Syal, Chief Technology Officer at Convera, stated: "Partnering with Rackspace Technology and utilising Amazon Bedrock has been transformative for our support operations. We've automated and streamlined our processes that previously consumed a significant portion of our team's time. This innovation allows us to respond more effectively to customer needs while maintaining the agility necessary to scale our operations as we continue to grow."

The collaboration also aims to further enable customers to solve complex business challenges by leveraging GenAI through FAIR, which helps organisations build and operate AI workloads at scale on AWS. Rackspace Technology plans to launch AWS-validated GenAI industry accelerators in AWS Marketplace in 2025, alongside Incubate with Amazon Q, which facilitates the adoption of GenAI use cases.
