Prvidr opens new office in Townsville for tech expansion

Yesterday

Prvidr has launched an office in Townsville to accommodate its expanding customer base across Queensland and Australia.

The Sydney-based company's new office will serve multiple purposes, including supporting technology skills development within the Far North Queensland region.

The move aims to cater to companies such as financial services, telcos, retailers, and utilities entering the subscription market, facilitated by Prvidr's all-on-one subscription management platform, Prvidr Go.

"We decided to open a regional office in Townsville in order to broaden our recruiting pool for our customer service and technology teams," said David Joss, CEO, Prvidr.

"Putting down roots and joining a regional community creates a different sort of connection for our teams, something that's much harder to create in a central business district."

"Much of our leadership team lives regionally and have experience in working in local communities and understand the benefit to the community of establishing opportunities in technology industries," he added.

Before selecting Townsville, Prvidr evaluated several regional centres. The decision was made based on Townsville's growing population and a highly skilled technology workforce, attributed to the region's strong presence in defence, marine science, and higher education sectors.

Prvidr will initially staff the Townsville office with 12 employees who will primarily oversee the national customer service centre.

These employees will receive support from a technology service team comprising software engineering and technical support, with plans for further recruitment as the business grows.

"Locally in Townsville, we are building an in-office experience for our team," said Joss. "We've invested to create an inviting and welcoming space for the team that encourages collaboration and reinforces the company's commitment to delivering innovation for customers. It's a space that we think employees and customers will love and we look forward to building stronger, valuable relationships within the region."

The recent report by The Tech Council of Australia highlighted that over 140,000 individuals currently work in Queensland's technology sector, with expectations of this number increasing to over 185,000 by 2030.

The state currently accounts for 15% of the national technology workforce.

Prvidr is located in the Garbutt suburb of Townsville - specifically at Suite 2b, 3 Ramsay Street. This move represents an effort to better serve the existing markets while contributing positively to regional communities in terms of technology employment and skills development.
