Orange Business and Aviatrix have expanded their partnership into Asia-Pacific, initially covering Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

The agreement builds on an existing relationship in Europe and creates a joint offering that combines Orange Business connectivity and managed services with Aviatrix cloud networking and security products.

Under the arrangement, enterprises in the three launch markets will get support to connect, secure and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple environments. The offer is aimed partly at organisations building or running AI workloads across different clouds, regions and data environments.

Aviatrix will also give Orange Business first right of refusal for opportunities in China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, South Korea and Taiwan, extending the partnership's potential reach in the region.

Orange Business, the enterprise arm of Orange Group, has operated in Asia-Pacific for more than 20 years. Aviatrix, founded in 2014, focuses on cloud networking and security.

AI demand

The companies are positioning the partnership around growing complexity in corporate cloud estates as AI projects spread across multiple platforms. AI environments often span several clouds, regions, containers, Kubernetes clusters and software agents, increasing networking demands and creating more points of exposure.

That argument aligns with a wider industry concern that many cyber attacks now rely less on malware and more on the misuse of valid credentials. The announcement cited CrowdStrike research finding that 82% of detections were malware-free, with attackers moving through authorised pathways instead of using conventional malicious code.

Against that backdrop, Orange Business and Aviatrix aim to offer a more centralised approach to cloud networking oversight, policy enforcement and traffic visibility. Their pitch is that customers need a way to see and control communications between AI applications, data sources and models without managing separate systems for each cloud provider.

Aviatrix secures network traffic connecting AI data sources, models and applications across multi-cloud environments. The companies also highlighted encrypted cloud-to-cloud connections at up to 100 Gbps and data-centre-to-cloud connectivity at up to 1 Tbps.

Managed service

The partnership also relies on Orange Business infrastructure. Its Orange Evolution Platform hosts Aviatrix in more than 40 locations globally, enabling deployments without additional hardware and supporting monthly billing models.

For customers, that means the joint service can be integrated with existing office networks, data centres, SD-WAN deployments and security environments. The managed service also extends traffic visibility and policy enforcement across SD-WAN, LAN and cloud networking environments.

Another part of the offer is operational flexibility. Organisations will be able to choose self-service, co-managed or fully managed models, covering the cloud networking lifecycle from design and deployment to operation and optimisation.

The companies also framed the offer around cost control. Real-time visibility into cloud resources and usage should help organisations manage traffic more efficiently, avoid unnecessary spending and improve financial planning for cloud operations.

The expansion reflects continued pressure on service providers to tie connectivity, security and cloud operations more closely together as enterprise customers spread workloads across several public clouds and on-premises systems. That pressure has intensified with AI projects, which often require large volumes of data movement and more granular controls over how applications and models interact.

Orange Business and Aviatrix are not alone in targeting that market. Telecoms operators, cybersecurity specialists and cloud networking vendors are all seeking a role in helping businesses manage increasingly fragmented infrastructure. The partnership gives Orange Business a regional route to extend its cloud networking offering, while Aviatrix gains access to Orange Business customers and operating footprint in Asia-Pacific.

The combined offering is intended to give organisations centralised governance, consistent policy enforcement and clearer visibility across multi-cloud environments, while reducing the complexity of running AI and other distributed workloads.

Orange Business and Aviatrix support the full cloud networking lifecycle, from design and deployment through operation and optimisation.
