Nutanix teams up with Lenovo for new partner program targeting the mid-market

28 Jun 2018

Enterprise cloud computing company Nutanix has announced the launch of a new channel partner program targeted specifically at partners focused on the mid-market.

Dubbed Nutanix Velocity, the program includes accelerated selling processes, incentives and marketing investments for strategic, mid-market focused channel partners.

As part of the program, Nutanix has teamed up with Lenovo to provide specific HX product bundles for mid-market customers based on the HX appliance.

Nutanix says these bundles include a faster purchasing path for pre-defined bundles and various configurations at an attractive price point.

According to Nutanix, Velocity offers partners more incentives and opportunities to provide the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS software to customers in the mid-market segment.

Through this new program, Nutanix says it is enabling partners to demonstrate to customers in the mid-market how hyperconverged infrastructure can help provide an elegant solution to their needs, without the cost and security challenges they may face with public cloud-only models.

Nutanix vice president of global channel sales Rodney Foreman says, “With the launch of our new Velocity program, Nutanix is empowering its partners to more easily offer Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS software to the mid-market segment.

“Legacy channel programs have revolved around benefits based only on revenue achievement, but Nutanix is looking to prioritise and reward partners who invest the most in our business. We’re thrilled that Lenovo also shares this philosophy and has partnered with us to increase sales in Lenovo HX appliances that leverage Nutanix software.”

In addition to the HX product bundles, Lenovo and Nutanix are launching a new hyperconverged software-ready product offering -  designed specifically for enterprise customers - called Lenovo ThinkAgile HX Certified Nodes.

The two companies say this offering addresses the need for enterprise customers who want to move to more flexible architectures as their legacy infrastructure needs to be replaced.

They say it will provide enterprise customers to choose the software licensing terms and conditions that are most optimal for their business needs, with customers now able to purchase the Nutanix software license separately from the Lenovo ThinkAgile HX platform.

Lenovo Data Centre Group vice president for worldwide sales operations Paige Garner says, “Since announcing our partnership with Nutanix less than three years ago, our ThinkAgile HX business has seen huge growth in customer count and revenue,”

“We are a fast-growing partner for Nutanix and we look forward to continuing this growth with our work on the Velocity program. Together, we can empower customers to embrace hyperconverged infrastructure with the HX product bundles and the new HX Certified Nodes portfolio.”
