Tue, 5th Dec 2023

In a significant growth and expansion move, Pop Group Holdings (POP) has announced the appointment of industry veteran Nicole Coleby as their Managing Partner of Operations. POP is a leading investor in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), specialising in data and technology-enabled insurance businesses. This move is reflective of its ambition to bolster its global footprint and specialty products in selected markets.

Coleby will be responsible for operations across POP's key operating entities Fusion Specialty M&A and Financial Lines MGAs, and io.insure, a small to mid-market InsurTech and M&A tech platform. The appointment is intended to support the strategic development of legal compliance, finance, and people management teams, among others.

The new role will be based in Melbourne, where Coleby boasts an impressive career in the insurance industry spanning two decades. Previously, she held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company of Australia (Adica), where she successfully managed operations and key stakeholder relationships to fuel the growth of the business.

Commenting on Coleby's appointment, Killian McDermott, co-founder and co-CEO of POP, says, "We are delighted to announce Nicole's appointment, which comes at an exciting time as we further strengthen our global footprint, with both Fusion and io.insure having exciting developments in their pipelines. We believe that Nicole is a great asset in leading our global operations teams, with her strong background and expertise in managing these functions at leading insurance organisations."

David Rogers, co-founder and co-CEO of POP adds, "As we cement our position as a leading global boutique data and tech-enabled M&A and specialty insurance services group, it is crucial to bolster our people and strategic operations and align them with our tech capabilities, so we remain resilient and competitive in the long term."

Thrilled about her new role, Nicole Coleby comments, "I look forward to working closely with Killian and David to drive POP's growth and continued success across its key markets in Asia Pacific, the Americas, Europe and the UK. Insurance has always been a passion of mine, and I am excited to join my fellow peers along POP's journey, as we further the group's efforts in data and technology-enabled innovations that are revolutionising the M&A and specialty insurance ecosystems."
