MOVA unveils wire-free robotic mowers with UltraView tech

Mon, 27th Oct 2025

Robotic lawn mower manufacturer MOVA has introduced a new wire-free range to the Australian market, offering automated lawn care without perimeter wires.

The launch sees the arrival of two models, the MOVA 600 and MOVA 1000, which utilise an UltraViewTM environmental perception system to enable wire-free setup and autonomous mowing across various lawn sizes and terrains.

Wire-free installation

The UltraViewTM technology forms the core of MOVA's wire-free system. Users can deploy the robotic mower directly onto their lawn, where it immediately maps boundaries, detects obstacles, and initiates precise mowing operations, eliminating the time-consuming perimeter wire installation and setup required by previous generations of robotic mowers.

Both models operate autonomously and are designed to assist users seeking to maintain their gardens with minimal intervention. Using advanced 3D LiDAR sensors, similar to those used in autonomous vehicles, the mowers detect and navigate around obstacles such as garden furniture, toys, and pets, ensuring safe and effective operation.

Features and performance

The MOVA 1000 model is equipped to handle rugged outdoor environments, particularly those found in suburban Australia, and is fitted with an off-road wheel system capable of tackling slopes up to 45 degrees. Weighing 11.7kg, the mower aims to combine robustness with consumer convenience.

The MOVA 600, targeted at owners with smaller lawns, supports mowing areas up to 600 square metres per 90-minute charge cycle. Its lightweight design and operational noise level of under 60dB are intended to ensure it functions discreetly without disturbing household routines or neighbouring properties.

Both units also integrate rain sensors that automatically pause mowing in inclement weather, reducing the risk of turf damage. Through the MOVAhome app, users can set mowing schedules, define no-mow zones around sensitive garden features, and adjust cutting heights anywhere between 2 and 6cm depending on seasonal or grass-type requirements.

Systematic coverage and mulching

The mowers follow a U-shaped cutting pattern that, according to the manufacturer, ensures even lawn coverage. Grass clippings naturally mulch and return to the soil, providing ongoing nutrients and potentially reducing the need for separate fertilisation.

"We're not just selling lawn mowers," explains Ling Qin, CTO for MOVA Lawn Mower Business. "We're offering Australians the gift of time - time to take their weekends back and enjoy their gardens rather than maintain them. That's the real innovation."

The dual-map capability on the MOVA range allows users to manage different sections of a property, such as the front and back gardens, with separate mowing schedules. This flexibility is designed for those with segmented outdoor areas, including those who wish to protect specific flower beds or landscaping features.

Availability

MOVA's robotic lawn mowers are available through authorised retailers throughout Australia. The devices are targeted at both consumers seeking to reduce manual garden maintenance and those interested in integrating automated solutions into domestic routines.
