Motorola Solutions acquires Videotec S.p.A for security portfolio
Motorola Solutions has acquired Italian ruggedised video security company Videotec S.p.A, along with its portfolio of highly versatile cameras.
Motorola Solutions, whose business focuses on public safety and enterprise security, says that the new acquisition will add to their extensive security portfolio and provide better solutions for a wide range of customers globally.
Videotec's range of fixed and Pan, Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) cameras are designed to be installed and operate under rough conditions and around areas such as critical infrastructure, ports, energy and transportation where video security is imperative.
The company says its portfolio allows security operators to have clearer visibility across these settings to detect and respond to abnormal events or dangerous situations. They say this will help reduce safety threats and support business continuity.
Motorola Solutions chairman and CEO Greg Brown says that the acquisition will support and enhance safety solutions for Motorola Solutions customers around the globe. He says the acquired solutions will help meet the demands and needs of a variety of industries.
"Protecting the security and operational continuity of critical infrastructure is vital to our cities and businesses. With Videotec's specialised suite of cameras, we're extending the breadth of our portfolio to help secure and support the demanding environments of these complex, essential industries."
Videotec CEO Alessio Grotto is also pleased to be able to help provide innovative security technologies to suit a wide range of clients.
"We're excited to join Motorola Solutions, bringing our technical expertise in extreme environment camera design to continue driving their mission as a global leader in video security," he says.
"Together we will continue to innovate technologies that stand up to some of the most challenging conditions - protecting people, enabling productivity and supporting business continuity for essential industries around the world."
