Milestone Systems expands APAC presence with new experience centre

Milestone Systems has inaugurated its most interactive Experience Centre in the Asia-Pacific region at its new office in Mulgrave, Melbourne. Known for its data-driven video technology software, the company is expanding its footprint after recording strong financial results across the APAC region in 2023.

This new Experience Centre marks a significant advancement from the first one in Australia, which opened in 2018. Designed to be highly interactive, the centre features individual touchscreens that enable users to access ten times more camera feeds than its predecessor. Additionally, it offers hands-on experiences with advanced features including license plate recognition, vehicle tracking, facial recognition, situational awareness, and IoT sensors. Currently, the centre supports an ecosystem comprising over 14,000 devices.

The centre aims to inspire stakeholders to innovate and customise solutions tailored to specific requirements without limitations. It provides a comprehensive testing ground for high-level video deployments, aiming to increase operational efficiency. The technology is designed to be applicable across various industries, rather than focusing on specific vertical markets. This allows users to design solutions for sectors such as mining, healthcare, education, and retail.

Jordan Cullis, Acting Country Manager for South Pacific at Milestone Systems, commented on the expansion: "We have had great success with our Experience Centre concept since opening the first at our previous site, and decided the time had come to expand and offer a more hands-on, visual experience to our partners and customers."

Data analytics, licence plate recognition, and other modern technologies can be combined to create cutting-edge integrated solutions for a huge and diverse range of scenarios. Further to this, the power of Milestones open platform allows solutions to be added as technologies evolve, effectively future-proofing any customised deployments."

The applications of the technology extend beyond traditional security measures. Solutions are being developed for various industry and general needs, including bushfire detection, pedestrian heat-mapping in retail centres, flood alerts, and remote monitoring of heavy machinery in mines.

Cullis also highlighted the collaborative nature of the centre: "Working with our close partners in the industry such as healthcare, education and retail means that we are able to offer a truly collaborative experience where people can get the look and feel of how hardware and software work seamlessly together, try new things and experiment to really explore what is possible in the realm of video technology. It also offers the service provider community the opportunity to demonstrate future-proof solutions to their customers."

The Experience Centre encourages customer engagement by allowing partners to book the space for demonstrating key features of their technologies. Hands-on demonstrations will enable customers to see how various technologies integrate with Milestone Systems’ suite, including XProtect, BriefCam, Hospital Assist, and Kite.
