Lancom Technology has appointed Bernard Moran as Australia Country Executive, giving the New Zealand technology company dedicated leadership in the market.

Based in Melbourne, Moran takes charge of Lancom's Australian operations with immediate effect. His remit includes strengthening relationships with existing customers, expanding the local team, and widening the company's reach into additional markets and industry sectors.

The appointment comes as Lancom sharpens its focus on Australia, where it already serves customers including Downer, Linfox Armaguard, Mondiale VGL, and Barwon Health. The company provides managed services, software development, and cloud infrastructure services across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and other markets.

Priscila Bernardes, Chief Executive Officer of Lancom Technology, said there was room for further expansion in sectors where the company already has experience, including logistics, transport, financial services, healthcare, government, and commercial enterprise.

"The Australian managed services market was valued at approximately US$6.5 billion in 2025 and is forecast to grow to almost US$12 billion by 2034, driven by increasing cloud adoption, cybersecurity requirements, digital transformation initiatives, and growing reliance on specialised technology partners like Lancom Technology," Bernardes said.

Lancom said demand in Australia is being driven by cloud migration, artificial intelligence adoption, cybersecurity spending, and broader technology modernisation. It also pointed to forecasts that place the wider Australian IT services market at about US$41 billion in 2026, rising to more than US$84 billion by 2034.

Moran joins with experience from roles at Powernet IT Solutions, Virtual IT Group, and other organisations involved in acquisitions and large customer environments. His background includes business growth, service delivery, customer engagement, and cloud strategy.

Growth plan

A central part of Lancom's plan is to add more local resources in Australia, including more customer-facing technical staff, stronger business development coverage, and a larger in-country presence, alongside support from its wider trans-Tasman delivery operation.

The business also sees a bigger opportunity in cloud and infrastructure work as Australian organisations continue to modernise their technology estates. Lancom noted forecasts that public cloud services spending in Australia will exceed A$33 billion in 2026.

Moran said existing customers would be the first focus under his leadership.

"Our first priority is our existing customers," Moran said. "My focus is on strengthening those relationships, ensuring we're continuing to deliver exceptional outcomes, and helping customers access more of what Lancom has to offer in support of their growth."

Bernardes said Lancom expects its current Australian customer base to grow. She said the addition of a senior executive in-country is intended to support that effort and give the company more direct coverage in one of its target markets.

"Our customer portfolio includes Downer, Linfox Armaguard, Mondiale VGL, Barwon Health, and other enterprises relying on Lancom's expertise across cloud, managed services, cybersecurity, digital workplace solutions, business applications, and more. We have the skills and capacity, and now we have the in-country leadership," Bernardes said.

Lancom was founded in 1988 and has built its business around managed services, cloud infrastructure, and software development. The company works with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure and has operations spanning several international markets.

Moran said he sees the task in Australia as building on an established approach rather than changing direction.

"Lancom has always stood out because of its people, culture, and technical capability," Moran said. "The company has an outstanding reputation for service delivery and innovation, foundations I'll be building on. We're not looking to reinvent the wheel, but rather extend a proven model that has delivered outstanding customer outcomes across New Zealand and Australia."

Bernardes said the appointment forms part of a longer-term investment in the Australian market.

"Australia represents an exciting growth opportunity for Lancom, and Bernard's appointment as Australia Country Executive gives us dedicated leadership on the ground as we build the next chapter of our business. Bernard brings a strong commercial mindset alongside a genuine focus on customers, partnerships, and people. His appointment reflects our commitment to investing in Australia for the long term, building local relationships, and bringing the breadth of Lancom's technology and managed services capabilities to more Australian organisations," Bernardes said.
