Infosys expands Meta partnership with AI centre of excellence
Infosys has announced an expansion of its strategic collaboration with Meta, focusing on the development and integration of enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) solutions through open-source initiatives.
This partnership aims to harness the potential of Meta's Llama stack, a series of large language models, to promote industry-wide innovation and enhance business operations globally.
As part of this collaboration, Infosys has launched a Meta Centre of Excellence (COE), which will play a key role in accelerating the adoption of Meta's Llama technology across enterprises. The COE aims to foster internal adoption of AI, create industry-specific use cases, and contribute to the broader open-source community. Infosys believes that through this initiative, a large talent pool will be trained to utilise the Llama stack, facilitating seamless AI integration for businesses.
"By integrating Meta's Llama family of models into Infosys Topaz, we are harnessing the power of collaboration and transparency to make AI accessible and impactful for all businesses," said Balakrishna D. R. (Bali), Executive Vice President, Global Services Head, AI and Industry Verticals at Infosys. "For Infosys, open-source innovation is not just part of the future; it is pivotal to creating impactful digital solutions that drive growth and efficiency, levelling the playing field for all businesses."
Infosys Topaz is an AI-driven platform that leverages generative AI technologies to provide a variety of services, solutions, and platforms. The integration of Llama within Infosys Topaz aims to unlock new possibilities for businesses, offering tools such as a document assistant capable of reviewing contracts more efficiently than traditional methods. This AI-powered solution is designed to deliver significant productivity improvements, underlining the potential of generative AI to transform enterprise processes.
The new Centre of Excellence will further support this collaboration by providing a dedicated AI Experience Zone at Infosys' Bengaluru campus. The AI Experience Zone is intended to give customers a practical demonstration of enterprise AI advancements developed by Infosys in partnership with Meta. Through this interactive space, businesses will gain insights into how they can implement Llama-powered solutions within their own operations.
"As an early adopter and launch partner for Llama 3.1 and 3.2 models, Infosys is at the forefront of open-source AI innovation," the company stated. "Our collaboration with Meta is driven by a shared vision of creating transparent, collaborative AI ecosystems that empower businesses to compete globally."
Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President and Head of Meta India, echoed the importance of this partnership. "We are delighted to deepen our collaboration with Infosys, an association that exemplifies the strategic importance of open-source AI development," she said. "The integration of Llama within Infosys Topaz is a testament to the exciting possibilities of AI to drive innovation and empower businesses to harness the full potential of AI in transforming their operations."
According to Devanathan, open-source AI models like Llama are set to become critical tools for enterprises, helping them accelerate digital transformation and compete effectively on a global scale. Through this partnership, both companies aim to fast-track innovation and provide businesses with the tools they need to scale and optimise their operations efficiently.
Infosys and Meta's collaborative efforts in open-source AI reflect a broader industry trend towards transparency, accessibility, and community-driven development. With the launch of the Meta Centre of Excellence, Infosys is positioning itself as a leader in the evolving landscape of AI, aiming to provide businesses with the resources and solutions necessary to navigate the challenges of digital transformation.
This partnership underscores Infosys' commitment to open-source AI innovation, with a focus on creating impactful solutions that benefit industries worldwide.
