Identity Digital plants 25,000 trees with Trillion Trees

Today

Identity Digital has partnered with Trillion Trees to plant 25,000 trees in Australia over the next four years in an effort to offset carbon emissions and improve biodiversity.

The collaboration represents Identity Digital's commitment to enhancing the sustainability of its global operations, which currently extend over two continents with plans to expand further. This initiative also aims to improve local air quality.

Chief Strategy Officer at Identity Digital, Ram Mohan, expressed the significance of the partnership: "This partnership with Trillion Trees Australia is a vital one for the future of biodiversity and the health of the planet. Our target of planting 25,000 trees over the next four years will have an impact on local air quality, offsetting carbon emissions and improving biodiversity."

Mohan highlighted Trillion Trees Australia's dedication to landscape restoration and community empowerment in combating climate change: "Trillion Trees Australia is committed to restoring landscapes, rebuilding habitat for wildlife and empowering people in our community to take tangible action against the impacts of climate change."

For more than a decade, Identity Digital has been focusing on digital connectivity. However, Mohan also emphasised the importance of connecting communities offline: "For over a decade, we have focused on connecting the online world. But it is also essential to ensure we connect communities offline. This is why sustainability initiatives are so important to us. The partnership with Trillion Trees is another major step that will help us to achieve our ambitious environmental goals, which currently span two continents, with a third to be added in 2025."

Mohan reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting local communities and encouraged others to consider ways to make a positive impact: "We believe that everyone has a responsibility to the planet and encourage them to look for ways to make a positive impact. Our goal is to support the local communities where we do business."

Referring to the partnership, he added, "Our partnership with Trillion Trees provides a blueprint to do exactly that: positively impacting the communities we serve by restoring biodiversity in Australia. This is an act that goes beyond future climate change mitigation by enhancing agricultural productivity and improving human health today."

The initiative aligns with Identity Digital's long-term sustainability goals. Mohan also noted plans for broader collaboration: "We aim to go further, in Australia and beyond. Which is why we are working with key suppliers and partners such as auDA to co-create innovative sustainability strategies. Together, we will drive positive change and make a powerful impact across Australia."

Trillion Trees, based in Western Australia, involves thousands of volunteers annually in restoring wetlands, rebuilding bushland, and growing native trees and plants in its community nursery.
