Hydrolix integrates with Akamai to upgrade cloud computing capabilities
Fri, 17th Nov 2023

Akamai Technologies Inc., an expert provider of cloud services that powers and safeguards online activities, has announced that Hydrolix has joined the Akamai Qualified Computing Partner Program.

Hydrolix is integrating its managed observability capabilities with Akamai's global distribution in the form of TrafficPeak, a platform for real-time data visualisation and long-term data retention.

This robust partnership, announced on November 15, 2023, adds Hydrolix's TrafficPeak into Akamai's cloud computing offerings, consolidating insights into applications, users, and infrastructure. TrafficPeak, now running on Akamai Connected Cloud, offers these services at a significantly lower cost than other existing observability technologies.

As an integrated solution, TrafficPeak allows seamless interaction with Akamai's security information and event management (SIEM) and DataStream 2 data. It offers consolidated visibility into security incidents and application performance thanks to customisable dashboards, automatic data retention scheduling, and subsecond query performance. This setup allows users to efficiently identify potential security threats, such as uncommon traffic spikes and other incidents.

Besides SIEM data, other types of accessible data include Akamai's Common Media Client Data (CMCD), which optimises media content delivery in real-time. It also includes Akamai mPulse, a comprehensive digital experience monitoring and optimisation platform empowering businesses to measure and enhance the performance and user experience of their websites and applications in real-time.

Marty Kagan, CEO of Hydrolix, expresses excitement about meeting the needs of Akamai customers by offering a scalable observability solution. The aim is to provide real-time observability to all Akamai security and delivery customers, enabling them to handle large-scale workloads seamlessly without excessive effort or prohibitive costs.

Marty Kagan remarks: "Akamai customers are hungry for a scalable observability solution to handle Akamai-scale workloads without effort or ruinous costs. We are excited to provide real-time observability to all Akamai security and delivery customers."

Matt Berk, Vice President of Cloud Computing, Akamai, announces the integration of TrafficPeak into Akamai's services, made available through the Akamai Qualified Computing Partner Program. This integration allows Akamai customers to effortlessly handle their Akamai data, including SIEM, DataStream 2, CMCD, and mPulse. Users can seamlessly ingest, store, and query this data directly on Akamai Connected Cloud, enhancing the overall accessibility and functionality for Akamai customers.

Matt Berk said: "Akamai is pleased to make TrafficPeak available to Akamai customers through the Akamai Qualified Computing Partner Program."

"With TrafficPeak, Akamai customers can seamlessly ingest, store, and query their Akamai data, including SIEM, DataStream 2, CMCD, and mPulse directly on Akamai Connected Cloud."

The overarching aim of the Akamai Qualified Computing Partner Program is to offer solution-based services that are interoperable with Akamai's cloud computing services. These services are provided by technology partners that pass through a stringent qualification process to ensure seamless deployment and scalability across the globally distributed Akamai Connected Cloud.
